The world went in for a momentary frenzy when a post from Deepika and Ranveer’s Instagram handle dropped a surprise which people were always waiting for. The note comprised of an official wedding announcement of the duo which could be read as, “With the blessings of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing that our wedding is set to take place on the 14th and 15th of November 2018. We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty, friendship and togetherness. Lots of love, Deepika and Ranveer.”
And ever since, multitudes of wedding updates each day have been pouring in. Bollywood’s ace director, Farah Khan, was the first person to offer a big break to Deepika. Unable to contain her excitement, the Om Shanti Om director posted an adorable picture with the soon-to-be married couple, Deepika and Ranveer and wrote a witty caption which could be read as, “My baby’s getting married!! Love you @deepikapadukone and @ranveersingh for coming home. Now just follow all the instructions on the card I gave you.”
She posted yet another picture with a heartwarming wish for the couple. In the picture, Farah's 'daughter' Deepika and 'son-in-law' Ranveer, could be seen giving a warm peck on Farah’s cheeks which she captioned as, “May you LOVE happily ever after! #soninlawlove #marriageblessings @deepikapadukone @ranveersingh.” Another picture on her Instagram story with the trio in one frame had the words ‘My babies’ written atop it. During the promotions of her film, Happy New Year, Farah had shared that Deepika is like her ‘kohinoor’. This is what she had said, “She has really grown as an actress. She was a rough diamond when she started her career in 2007 but in these seven years I feel she has become a polished diamond. She is like my Kohinoor.” Further stating that she treats Deepika as her daughter, Farah stated, “She has not changed as a human being for me. We are still like mother and daughter. In a 2016 interview, Deepika had shared that Farah was upset with her. Want to know the reason why? Hear from the star herself, “I remember reading that after Om Shanti Om, Farah (Khan) was upset with me because I had not kept in touch. But I didn’t know any better. In my mind, I was thinking these are big people, wouldn’t I be disturbing them by calling, etc. I didn’t know how to conduct myself. I had to explain this to her later, when I had the courage to. I was like, ‘Please don’t misunderstand me’. I mean not only was I adapting to a new industry, I was adapting to a new city as well”.
She had further stated, “There was so much going on and in my mind, it was always like even though Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan said, ‘Baby, if you ever need anything, we are a phone call away’, I always felt they are saying it because they have to say it.
