Your local jeweller will tell you easy ways of cleaning your gold ornaments. Here is a simple way: Place your jewellery in water for a couple of minutes. Upkeep of silver jewellery is much similar to that of gold jewellery. Silver jewellery should be stored in air-tight boxes as these help in reducing exposure to metals and oxygen. It also helps in reducing the coat of oxide on silver. Nowadays, there are special clothes available in market to store silver jewellery as they help in absorbing the oxide formed on the silver articles.
Stash your diamond pieces separately as their hard edges can be dangerous to softer stones. Clean your gems with mild detergent and warm water, and pat dry with a soft cloth before storing them. Remember, never apply any makeup after wearing your precious diamond Jewellery.
Though the best way to store heavy jewellery is to keep them safe in bank lockers, but some daily-use jewellery can also be stored in hidden places at home. Precious jewellery are best long-term investments, so it is better to be extra careful and store them in a right way immediately.
