No matter how modern we get, there are some traditions that are deeply rooted in our veins and keeping a nirjala fast of Karwa Chauth is the most important one. On this day, married women doll up in pretty clothes and apply mehendi on their hands and feet like a 'new bride'. Women observing this fast get together on this day and celebrate it with puja and narrating folklore tales and singing folk songs.
The Tinseltown beauties also happily indulge in the festivities of Karwa Chauth and are keeping fast especially for their soulmates. And Bollywood actress, Esha Deol Takhtani isn't far behind as she observes the fast for her husband, Bharat Takhtani every year.
Today, on October 17, 2019, Esha celebrated Karwa Chauth puja with her devrani, Tanvi Gupta Takhtani. She took to her Instagram handle and posted a series of pictures. In the same pictures, we can see her donning a pretty red and golden palazzo-suit teamed with a matching red dupatta. The actress looked radiant as she kept her makeup minimal. She captioned the pictures as "#karvachauth Pooja at my lovely sister in law @tanvi_gupta21 house! With all the beautiful ladies!" Take a look at her pictures below:
Coming back to Esha and Bharat's love story, in an interview, the actress had talked about it. She had shared, "I was in Jamnabai Narsee School, Bharat was studying at Learner's Academy in Bandra. That was one school which had good looking boys in Bandra. We met at the inter-school competition called Cascade which was hosted by my school. I wrote my phone number on a piece of tissue and gave it to him. I had braces back then. I always say he truly loved me with braces on. He found me cute."
She had further added, "We had one phone which was in my mother's room and had no extension. It used to be very difficult to talk back then. In that age, it was infatuation and innocence. That was beautiful. Of course, in college we were in touch and then my work life started at the age of 18. It kind of fizzled out but I am happy that we got back and he is my life partner."
In an interview with SpotboyE, Esha had talked about the time when Bharat came back into her life. She had stated, "There was a time when Bharat came back into my life after a long gap. It was a long nice gap where movies happened and then he came back at the right time. So, settling down, being someone's daughter-in-law, someone's wife and all of that, so, I am the kind of person who wants to give her 100 per cent into a relationship to make it work. But Bharat and my-in-laws have always been supportive of my work."
In another interview, Esha had opened up on getting married at an early age. She had said, "I realised that he’s someone who’ll be mine and remain loyal. I’ve always been a protected child but now I feel even more protected. I don’t feel like a lost soul anymore. There’s more purpose to life, something to look forward to. There’s a companion to hold my hand, haath pakdne wala koi hai. Bharat’s outgoing yet traditional. In a way, he’s like Papa; he knows how to keep his family together. If he can love and care for them, he won’t let me down either. Also, he’s comfortable with my celebrity status. He doesn’t view me as Esha Deol, he knows me as Esha, his friend."
Well, Esha is happily enjoying the perks of married life with Bharat and her two daughters!
