Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been ruling the silver screen for decades now, mesmerising the audience with her acting skills. There is no denying the fact that Aishwarya is the epitome of beauty and grace. However, once, actor, Emraan Hashmi commented on her beauty and called her plastic. The actor's comment shocked the entire nation as it was unacceptable. Ever since then, Aishwarya started hating Emraan and never ever shared the screen with him.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Emraan Hashmi opened up on the entire fiasco and revealed that he had to bear the brunt of his comment on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for quite some time. When he was asked if his character in his upcoming movie, Showtime, was similar to how he acted during his 2014 KWK episode, Hashmi said:
“I am playing a fictional character here (‘Showtime’), who calls a spade a spade. Talking about Koffee With Karan, well I had to bear the brunt for it for quite some time for really calling a spade a spade. You know what, when that rapid-fire round happened, Karan had cut the shot, and he just looked around on the set and everyone was dumbfounded. He asked ‘Can you actually keep this (Emraan’s answer)?’ And a couple of people behind the camera said ‘Yes’.”

Emraan Hashmi once made an appearance on Karan Johar’s popular talk show, Koffee With Karan 4, with his uncle, Mahesh Bhatt, in 2014. During the Rapid Fire round, the show's host, Karan Johar, asked Emraan to name an actor/actress that comes to his mind when he hears the word plastic. To which, the Tum Mile actor quickly gave Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's name. Later when the show was aired, Emraan's comment didn't go well with Aishwarya's fans and media critics. Reportedly, it had ripple effects on Emraan's career, and he went out of his way to apologise for it.
Emraan Hashmi and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's rivalry is known to almost everyone. On January 20, 2023, Emraan took to his Instagram handle and posted a picture with Akshay Kumar. However, what caught our attention was that there was a massive picture of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the backdrop. Taking a dig at their rivalry, Emraan penned a hilarious caption and expressed how he got a chance to meet the actress. He wrote:
"Chalo unke saath nahi to unke photo ke saath selfie hi sahi kyun @akshaykumar."

Earlier, in an interview with Connect FM Canada, Emraan Hashmi opened up about his fanboy moment with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and recalled how he was awestruck by her beauty. Talking about the incident, Emraan shared that he was working as an assistant director during the filming of the movie, Raaz. As he was blown away by Aishwarya's grace after watching Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, he went outside the actress' van and waited for one and a half hours just to watch her. Emraan recalled:
"I have been starstruck by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Actually, I had never done this before. I waited outside her van when I was an assistant director with my cousin Mohit Suri. He was also an assistant at that time. I waited for atleast for one-and-a-half-hours. I had not done that before. It was ridiculous. We were assisting for Raaz but before that I had seen her film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and I was a huge fan. I wanted to get a glimpse of her.”
