While the buzz had already gone rife on social media, Shivon has now reacted to the speculations and shared how abrupt everything was. She even shared a screenshot of their private conversation, where the SpaceX CEO was seen telling her "love you".

Elon Musk abruptly broke up with his current partner, who is also the mother of four of his kids. Now, amid the buzz, she took to her X account and shared a lengthy post along with one of their most recent text exchange. In the screenshot dated September 24, 2026, E (allegedly Elon) had responded to Shivon with "Love you too" after she texted him that it was wonderful seeing him for breakfast.
They further seemed to have been talking about a dinner for Xi, allegedly Xi Jinping, where Elon Musk apparently didn't invite Shivon Zilis, alleging that he didn't know that significant others were allowed, because at the Beijing dinner they weren't. The exchange seemed extremely polite and normal. However, along with the screenshot, it was the text that caught everyone's attention.

Shivon took to her X account on October 2, 2026, and, in a lengthy statement, shared that it is hard to go from being in love with someone to letting go without any warning. However, she acknowledged that that's how life worked sometimes. Instead of any harsh comments, Shivon expressed gratitude for the time they spent together and said that she feels happy that she got to show Elon Musk what it felt like to be deeply understood, nurtured, and peacefully loved with stability and gentleness.
Shivon mentioned Elon's previous relationships without naming any of his exes and alleged that she is grateful that she got to show his often "tortured soul" what a stable form of love can look like. She further stated that her heart was full knowing that she provided that peaceful love to Elon Musk and has expressed her hope that she left a lasting good effect on his life. She was quoted as saying:
"It's hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that's just how it is sometimes. I feel happy that I got to show Elon how it feels to be deeply understood, nurtured, and peacefully loved with stability and gentleness. Given the tumultuous nature of his early life, his often tortured soul, and how hard he fights for humanity, I wanted him to feel the deepest and most stable form of love this world can provide."
Shivon Zilis further referred to their family as Elon Musk's safe space and a place where all of them spent countless moments filled with happiness and love. She added that their home was a stark contrast to Elon's otherwise "militant existence", and whenever he needed a break from being in the battlefield, he had a place he could come to. Shivon went on to express her gratitude for getting the chance to be his place of safety, calm, and love. She was quoted as saying:
"We were always his safe space. A place where all of us were overjoyed to see him and one that was always full of happiness and love, not war, in contrast to his otherwise militant existence (a needed break from the battlefield where he could recharge his heart and soul before heading back out)."
She concluded the statement by saying that she loved Elon more than life itself and acknowledged how he taught her a lot during the course of their relationship. While she didn't deny the loss that has been there, she also admitted that she was lucky that they got to create a world filled with love. She expressed her gratitude for their four children and hoped to be great friends and co-parents with him in the future. She was quoted as saying:
"I am so beyond grateful for our children, and they make every single day the best day of my life! I do hope and pray he and I can be great friends and co-parents. I'm hurting, but I care deeply about E and will always be cheering for his happiness. Godspeed, Elon; the world is lucky to have you."
On September 27, 2026, in the days between that exchange and her statement about the breakup, Shivon Zilis had posted, "New day, new life", without sharing any context. However, the buzz that the two had broken up only hit the news on October 1, 2026, before Shivon confirmed it on October 2, 2026.
