“Even though I gave her a ring, it’s me who found the diamond!” In real-life, Sumeet Vyas found his ‘Permanent Roommate’ in Ekta Kaul. On September 15, 2019, Sumeet and Ekta became husband and wife and had embarked on their journey of ‘happily ever after’. A few days after their wedding, Sumeet and Ekta had posted official wedding photographs on their respective social media handles. While Sumeet had written, “Couldn’t have been happier...#happilyeverafter @ektakaul11”, Ekta had captioned it as, “Mr and Mrs Vyas... #foreverafter @sumeetvyas you are my happy place.”
A few hours ago, Sumeet Vyas and his turtledove, Ekta Kaul posted glimpses of the first fast that she had kept for him. On the occasion of Teej, Ekta posted some goofy pictures with her hubby, and captioned it, “Apne pati ki lambi umr ke liye teej pe aise upvaas karein —>2nd photo ! Aur haan, gift lena na bhoolein! #guiltfreepatikadimagkhae #feelthepower Happy teej everyone!” Sumeet too, complimented his wife for smiling despite keeping a fast, and wrote, “Women are a superior race... and this woman never fails to remind me of that. Sometime back, Sumeet Vyas had talked to Humans Of Bombay about his love story that went from “I’d been single for sometime" to "I gave her a ring". Revealing his moment of realisation that Ekta is the ‘one’ for him, Sumeet had said, "It's not one big moment when you know you've met 'the one'. It's how they make you feel everyday; if they make you a better person. And she does. But one stand out moment was last year during holi! I rode my motorcycle to a party and had a little bit of bhang. I was in no state to ride. She saw that and took the keys –I thought she was joking! I mean it was a Bullet! But she just got on and off we went, me in the backseat and my lady driving the bullet. I was thinking then, Man! I'm going to marry her! She's the one!"
And when did he asked Ekta Kaul to be his ‘forever’? Sumeet Vyas had retorted, “But, all of a sudden she left for Jammu because she realised acting wasn’t for her! I knew then that I wanted to do everything to make this work. I asked her to move back to our relationship–to give us a chance. Thankfully, she agreed, but I didn’t want to risk it, so this year on my birthday, I popped the question! Just like the reel-life epic proposal fail in Permanent Roommates, this gem of a romance had a happy ending but with a twist in their proposal moment. In another throwback interview, Sumeet Vyas had revealed how he had proposed Ekta Kaul with the wrong size of the ring. He had said, “Ekta is a beautiful person. I decided to pop the question a few days ago and slipped a ring on her finger before she could change her mind! I am glad she loved it and has accepted my proposal. Unfortunately, I got the size of the ring wrong, which can be expected from a guy like me.”
In an interview with the IANS, Sumeet Vyas had mentioned his wife, Ekta Kaul to be a ‘complete package’ and speaking of how he knew that she is the one for him, the Veere Di Wedding star had said, "Wow, that is really a deep question. You come to know with the time you spend with your partner. For me, it is basically the core value that a person has. I wanted to be with someone who is not filmy, with someone with no multiple layers as to how they react to situations. And Ekta is a pretty straight forward person besides being drop-dead gorgeous. She is like a complete package. I am wondering what did she see in me, how did she think I am the one."
In an interview with the India Today, Ekta Kaul recalled the exact moment when she fell in love with Sumeet Vyas, and had said, “Yes the memories are so vivid. I saw him on the monitor while shooting for the first time and I fell in love with him.” When asked about the quality of him that she admires the most, Ekta had retorted, “His patience!” And one thing that irks her about him, Ekta had replied, “He forget things. I mean if he goes out to buy something he might just eat a meal and come back, and forget the agenda.
