And Padma Shri, Ekta Kapoor had also welcomed her little munchkin, Ravie Kapoor, through surrogacy on January 27, 2019. And on January 31, 2019, Ekta had taken to her social media handle and had confirmed the news of Ravie’s arrival. After the birth of a child, a woman’s life starts to revolve around her child. From balancing her personal and professional life to spending more time at home, she tries to be available for her kid 24x7. Ekta had taken to her Instagram handle and to confirmed the news of Ravie’s arrival and had written, “By God’s grace, I have seen many successes in my life, but nothing beats the feeling of this beautiful soul being added in my world. I cannot even begin to express how happy my baby’s birth has made me. Everything in life doesn’t go the way you want it to but there are always solutions to those hiccups. I found mine and today I feel immensely blessed to become a parent. It is an emotional moment for me, and my family and I can’t wait to begin this new journey of being a mother to my little bundle of joy, Ravie Kapoor.”
Since the arrival of Ravie Kapoor, we have been waiting for the first picture of the little munchkin and Ekta fulfilled our wish on his first birthday. On January 26, 2020, Ekta hosted a grand pre-birthday bash for her son, Ravie’s first birthday and posed for the media with her son. Ekta looked stunning in a casual blue-coloured jumpsuit and the birthday boy looked dapper in a grey-coloured tuxedo and we couldn’t help but notice, how adorable the mother-son duo looked together as they posed for the cameras together for the first time. The bash was attended by the who’s who of the glamour world. Ekta Kapoor took to her Instagram handle and shared a video from the cake cutting ceremony of the birthday boy, Ravie Kapoor. In the video, we can see Ekta’s father, Jeetendra ji holding little Ravie in his arms and Ekta and her nephew, Laksshya Kapoor (Tusshar Kapoor's son) cutting the birthday cake on his behalf. Ekta Kapoor took to her Instagram handle and wished her little munchkin, Ravie Kapoor on his first birthday. Sharing a video of little Ravie's one year journey, Ekta wrote, "JAI MATA DI. Exactly a year ago on this day a new journey began... writing’ mentalhood’ had made me paranoid ...being a mother was not easy .. a life long commitment....u came smiled n I knew ...I finally belonged !!!! Thanku alt digital for making this video n gifting it to me ...n sorry maasi ur stressed I know...happpie bday ravioli."
In an interview with The Times of India, Ekta had shared that she takes Ravie along with her to the office and spends time with him. It is only when there is any problem that she has to go to the sets, otherwise, her team is there to manage things. She was quoted as saying, "Being a working mother, one has to manage things." She had even described Ravie's cute moments and had said, "I checked his chart and got to know that he has a high temper. People think am short-tempered, but he is the one."
In an interaction with film critic, Anupama Chopra, Ekta had talked about the first time she found out that she was going to be a mom and had said, “When I knew that the surrogate had conceived, and it was on June 7. On my birthday I got to know. I was a bit overwhelmed. I was like 'Okay this is happening. This is going to be a huge responsibility. I just wrote a show out which is going to be with an A-list Bollywood actress. It's called Mentalhood. It's about motherhood and every time we did the scripting about the Momzillas and the pressure you go through, the guilt you go through, tiger moms, helicopter moms, I was constantly feeling overwhelmed. But now I have realized that I have a lot of guilt even now.”
Ekta had further added, “I think the first thing you think as a mother is a guilt. I don't think anyone would say that so openly. I am at work, I am feeling guilty, when I am at home, there is a lot of guilt about not completing the things that I used to normally do. So, you are just dealing with various kinds of guilt. Then it's responsibility and third is a feeling that there's someone there that you want to see grow. It's a bit confusing at this moment. It has been 25 days as of now.” Sharing the support of the family for she is a single mom, she had retorted, “The baby is a joint venture.
