The most awaited movie release after Agneepath is here. Yes, we are talking about Karan Johar’s Ek Main aur Ek Tu. This Imran Khan- Kareena Kapoor starrer film released today (10th February 2012). According to the reports, it has got a fair box office opening collection. The storyline is apparently woven on the lines of an English movie ‘ What Happens in Vegas’. Rahul Kapoor (Imran Khan) a 25-year-old boy, who belongs to a wealthy family does everything that his parents want him to do. He is like a puppet living out their dreams and desires. Riana Braganza (Kareena Kapoor) however, is a complete opposite of Rahul’s persona. She is a lively girl who has dumped six Mr Rights and is everything he is not. So when these two personalities meet sparks obviously fly.
The film is directed by a debutante director Shakun Batra. He manages to string along the story well through mood related background scores, peppy great bollywood songs. While Kareena’s performance was average, one could see traces of her ‘Geet’ personality (From the movie Jab We Met). Imran on the other hand, was a surprise package as this time he breaks out of his usual dialogue delivery style and expressions. The saving grace of the film are the Songs and to some extent the flashy neon light atmosphere at different locations.
