For those unaware, Rylee is currently in a relationship with Walker Lyons.
Rylee Arnold gets candid about long-distance relationship with her boyfriend
During an interview with PEOPLE, Rylee Arnold revealed that her boyfriend, Walker Lyons, is about to return to Brigham Young University. On the other hand, she will also soon return to Dancing with the Stars. While it will force the couple into a long-distance relationship, Rylee said that she is curious to see if they can handle that. Even though long-distance can be difficult, she claimed that it can strengthen relationships. In her words:
“Honestly, for us, we just FaceTime every single night; we keep each other updated. It’s also a real good opportunity to see how you can handle long-distance. It’s a really hard situation to be put in in a relationship, but it also strengthens it so much.”
Rylee said that she believes it will make their emotional connection a lot deeper. She claimed that she is grateful for it and thinks it will act as a good opportunity for her boyfriend to focus on his life and excel, while she can also do the same.
Rylee made it clear that being in a long-distance relationship with the BYU Cougars tight end won't change the feelings that they have for one another. She stated:
“We can still love each other, support each other, and then when we see each other, it’s just that much better, so I think it’s awesome, but it is really hard at the same time. You’ve just got to push through.”
Rylee Arnold, whom fans saw team up with social media personality Connor Wood in DWTS Season 35, initially revealed her plans to long-distance date Walker via an Instagram post on July 29, 2026. Alongside a clip of their date night in a mountain town, she wrote in the caption, “I'm so grateful for him and for what these next few months look like for us both @walkerlyons.”

Rylee Arnold went official with Walker Lyons on Instagram in October 2024. Two months later, she revealed how they met during an appearance on The Squeeze podcast.
According to the dancer, a “really nice lady” who was driving her Uber had encouraged her to look up her nephew on IG. This is because the woman thought she would “really get along” with him. As it turned out, she was right. Rylee recalled:
“I was like, okay, trusted this girl. I looked him up, and I was like, ‘Okay, he’s cute.’ So at that point, I was too scared to really do anything about it, and so I was just kind of like put it in my back pocket.”
Even though Rylee did not do anything initially, she admitted that her sisters later encouraged her to reach out to Walker and ask him for a potential date. After being convinced, she followed his Instagram to discover that they actually had a “crazy amount of mutuals.”
This made the DWTS star think that the fact that she and Walker Lyons hadn't met before was pretty strange. However, she also went on to confess that when they did meet each other, it was at the “most perfect time in both of our lives.”
