'DTF St. Louis' Finale Theories, Who Killed 'Floyd'? A Possible Twist That Could Change Everything

DTF St. Louis finale will be released in a few hours, and there are several questions the viewers have for the final episode of the show. The biggest one being: who killed 'Floyd'. So, as we wait for DTF St. Louis Episode 7 to be released on April 12, 2026 (ET), let's take a quick look at what current theories say.

DTF St. Louis Episode 7 to reveal who murdered 'Floyd'?

DTF St. Louis finale will be released on HBO on April 12, 2026 (ET). However, what can fans expect from the show? Well, given that this will be the final episode of the miniseries, it is expected to answer several questions that have had the audience hooked for weeks. The episode is expected to be one of the most shocking and conversation-inducing episodes of the entire year. Despite the six episodes already released, fans are still trying to figure out the stories of 'Clark' and 'Carol'.

However, what remains unclear is why 'Floyd' went where he did shortly before his death, despite knowing the truth behind 'Tiger Tiger'. While fans are curious to see how one episode will tie up all the loose ends, given that DTF St. Louis is a limited series, there will be a clear beginning, middle, and end to this story, and it is really impossible to imagine a scenario where this show could come back.

What do the current theories have to say about 'Floyd's' death?

From the very beginning of DTF St. Louis, fans have wondered whether 'Carol' (Linda Cardellini) killed 'Floyd'. The fans have based their assumptions about her role throughout the series, which were further solidified after Episode 5 revealed 'Carol's' secret conviction. Although they never mentioned what the conviction was for, it led fans to believe the possibility was definitely there. On the other hand, some theories even suggested that 'Clark' could have been the killer, after he was seen being visibly upset about 'Floyd' and 'Carol's' rekindling their sex life. However, that position seemed to have changed after what happened in DTF St. Louis Episode 6.

Every episode of DTF St. Louis has showcased 'Floyd's' constant need for connection and affection. He has sought the same from 'Carol', 'Clark', and even his stepson, 'Richard'. However, it appears that 'Carol' had destroyed his ego, while 'Clark' had usurped the sexual pleasures 'Floyd' sought, and had also falsely bolstered 'Floyd's' confidence and self-worth by creating the 'Tiger Tiger' social profile and setting up a fake date. Meanwhile, while his bond with 'Richard' appeared to be better than ever, it might not have been enough. This has led us to another theory, which suggests that 'Floyd' may have been simply done.

Did 'Floyd' commit suicide?

Many fans believe that 'Floyd' might not have been murdered, and instead, he committed suicide. They have based this assumption on his need for connection and the understanding that 'Floyd' simply reached a point where his body and mind had been put through the wringer enough by the loved ones that he couldn’t take it anymore. The theory suggests that 'Floyd' might have purposefully taken too many of the meds that 'Clark' gave him, knowing that it could have an adverse effect on his heart. This had led many viewers to believe that maybe no one killed 'Floyd' in the sense that they were physically responsible for his death.

Why fans believe that 'Carol' might be partially responsible for 'Floyd's' death

One of the biggest hang-ups that the detectives have faced during the investigation of 'Floyd's' demise is the driver of the recumbent bike, who was known to be around the scene of the crime. Fans believe that it was 'Carol' who took it there. However, the details of what happened remained a little fuzzy, and no physical evidence points to 'Carol' actually being involved in 'Floyd's' demise. Fans have even alleged that 'Carol' went to the scene of death knowing that 'Floyd' was dead and intentionally repressed the scene to make it look like someone had murdered him.

However, why would she go through such an ordeal? The answer to that seems overly simple: 'Carol' knew that 'Floyd's' life insurance policies often won't pay out to beneficiaries when deaths are self-inflicted. 'Carol' had already put the time and effort into convincing an already eager 'Clark' to take out an insurance policy on 'Floyd'. Fans believe that 'Carol' wanted to make sure that she gets the million-dollar payout, because if not, there would be another pile of finance-wrecking funeral bills that would leave 'Carol's' life in even worse shambles. Her need for financial stability is reason enough for fans to believe she is capable of cleaning up a crime scene to set it up more in her favour. However, exactly what happened will only be revealed in the new episode.
