Jaideep Ahlawat fans are on cloud nine. The actor is set to play SP Crime Branch 'Rajveer Singh Tomar' in Drishyam: The Conclusion. The first-look poster of the same came out a while back. The final installment of the Drishyam franchise is slated to release on October 2, 2026.

Jaideep Ahlawat's character in Drishyam: The Conclusion is not similar to Akshaye Khanna's role

For the unversed, Jaideep Ahlawat's character is a completely new addition from his earlier investigative roles. He will not be in Akshaye's shoes but will play someone else's role. Drishyam: The Conclusion is all set for a theatrical release, and the makers dropped the first looks at the characters via a series of social media posts. Jaideep will be playing the role of SP Crime Branch 'Rajveer Singh Tomar'. He is shown as a new police officer who will appear to reopen the case involving 'Vijay Salgaonkar'

Jaideep Ahlawat's character in Drishyam: The Conclusion is shown to be very determined

Jaideep, as 'Rajeev Singh Tomar', is shown to be very serious and determined as a police officer. He will be portrayed as a new threat to the legendary 'Vijay Salgaonkar', played by Ajay Devgn. 'Vijay' and his family will be wary of 'Rajveer'. As seen in the poster, Jaideep is wearing black sunglasses, and his expression is all things intense. The power-packed caption read:

"Ab yeh case SP Crime Branch Rajveer Singh Tomar ke table par hai…aur isse kholunga bhi main, aur bandh bhi mai hi karunga...Vijay Salgaonkar ke arrest ke baad."

The message was a clear indication that 'Rajveer' is all set to reopen the case and is personally into it after 'Vijay' got arrested. A fan of Jaideep wrote, "Ohhhhhho…can’t wait bhai, Shubhkamnaein. Interesting appearance, really interesting." Another Drishyam franchise fan wrote, "This poster makes me want to revisit the earlier films. This is where every detail might matter."

It is worth mentioning that earlier reports circulated that Jaideep was set to replace Akshaye from Drishyam 3. Abhishek Pathak has directed the cult classic film, and Jaideep has stepped into the shoes of the actor who played 'Rehman Dakait' in Dhurandhar.

However, recent reports state that Jaideep has not replaced Akshaye in Drishyam 3. Apparently, Akshaye essayed the role of 'IG Tarun Ahlawat' in Drishyam 2. However, director Abhishek Pathak had clarified in an interview with the Bombay Times that Jaideep did not replace Akshaye. In his words:

"No, Jaideep is not replacing Akshaye. I'm writing a new character. He left it to me completely. Anyway, it's more about me, Akshaye, and the production. So, I would rather leave that aspect of how we dealt with it out."

Abhishek further stated that all this happened after the contract was signed. Jaideep's look was locked, costumes were being made, the narration had happened, and the actor loved the story. Abhishek also opened up about Jaideep's look in Drishyam 3, and the director stated:

"My film starts from the point where it (Drishyam 2) ended. I couldn't have him in the courtroom in the afternoon, and in the evening, he comes back with hair. How is it possible? That was the point I explained and convinced him. A few days later, this came up again, and that's when we said we will work it out."

Abhishek Pathak had stated that Jaideep's character was completely new and would get a different kind of challenge for 'Vijay'. As seen in Drishyam 2, 'Tarun Ahlawat' investigates the matter and has his own personal agenda with 'Meera Deshmukh'. Tabu has played the role. Jaideep, as an investigator, will appear more detached and unbiased.
