While the Grammy-nominated rapper has long kept much of his personal life private, his journey into fatherhood was particularly secretive.
Drake became a father to son Adonis Graham in 2017 with French artist and former adult star Sophie Brussaux. Their path to parenthood initially made headlines, but over the years, the two have developed a co-parenting relationship while raising Adonis. Here's a closer look at Sophie, her life today, and her role as the mother of Drake's only son.
Who is Sophie Brussaux? Meet her new husband, Efe Caliskan
Sophie Brussaux is a French artist who first gained global attention as Drake's ex-flame, especially given her background as a former adult-film performer who reportedly worked under the stage name Rosee Divine. She has now built a career as a painter, creating portraits of prominent figures and sharing her artwork online. She has also remained involved in Adonis' upbringing, with the young boy and his famous father maintaining a public relationship over the years.
Brussaux and Drake were briefly linked in 2017, and she later revealed that she was pregnant. After initially disputing the paternity claims, Drake confirmed he was Adonis' father following a paternity test in 2018.

Brussaux recently married professional Muay Thai fighter Efe Caliskan in a private ceremony in Ontario, Canada, nearly nine years after welcoming her son with Drake. The two exchanged vows on June 21, 2026 (Father's Day weekend), in North York, Toronto, surrounded by close family and friends.
Brussaux’s new husband, Efe Caliskan, is a professional Muay Thai fighter based in the Toronto area. The athlete has also made the move into mixed martial arts, making his MMA debut in Canada in 2026 and securing a unanimous-decision victory. Brussaux had previously shared glimpses of the pair training and sparring together.
Inside Sophie Brussaux and Drake's co-parenting journey
After initially denying Adonis as his son, Drake publicly acknowledged him as his own, though he preferred to keep it a secret in the beginning. Later, he addressed the situation on his album Scorpion, including the song March 14, and later discussed his relationship with Brussaux on HBO's The Shop.
Drake said in the show that he and Sophie had found themselves in a situation for which they were “both equally responsible” and emphasized that he wanted to be a good father. The rapper also made it clear that he wanted Adonis to have a healthy relationship with his mother. He told LeBron James in the unscripted series:
"I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who, we've had our moments. I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don't have any desire for him to not love his mother. I don't ever want the world to be angry at his mother. We have found ourselves in a situation, and we are both equally responsible."

Drake went on to say that he was "really excited to be a great father" and added, "No matter what happens, I have unconditional love for the mother of my child because I want him to love his mother and I have to project that energy."
Brussaux has also publicly praised Drake as a father, including a 2022 Father's Day message thanking him “for the amazing father you are to our son.”
Why Drake chose to raise Adonis away from the spotlight
Adonis was born in October 2017, but Drake and Brussaux waited until March 2020 to publicly share photos of him. Drake later explained that he wasn't trying to hide his son from the world so much as protect him from the intense attention that came with his own fame. Addressing the same, he rapped on Scorpion:
"I wasn't hidin' my kid from the world / I was hidin' the world from my kid."
As he has grown older, Adonis has become increasingly visible alongside his famous father. He has attended Toronto Raptors games with Drake, appeared at public events, and even joined him at the Billboard Music Awards. He also appeared in Drake's music video for 8 AM in Charlotte.

The nine-year-old has already shown an interest in both sports and art. He speaks French, a skill he has developed with his French mother, and has created artwork that Drake has proudly shared. In 2023, Adonis even designed the cover art for Drake’s For All the Dogs album and released his first rap song, My Man.
has tried martial arts and other activities. His parents have continued to give him space to explore his interests while maintaining a co-parenting relationship away from the spotlight.
Despite having a rocky start to their parenthood journey, Drake and Sophie have created a stable dynamic for their son.
