Every actor faces many financial vows in their career before they finally solidify a stable and prosperous professioanal front in the entertainment industry. Divyanka Tripathi is a household name in the Indian television industry, and there are no two ways to describe it. The diva gained immense fame with her stint in Zee TV's popular daily soap, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann. Later, her fame multiplied by manifolds when she played 'Ishita Raman Bhalla' in the Star Plus serial, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. However, Divyanka's journey towards success has not been a cakewalk. The actress also had to face many hurdles to reach success. 

Divyanka Tripathi's early life and education

Divyanka Tripathi comes from a humble background where she and her two sisters were always encouraged to focus on their studies. Her father, Narendra Tripathi, is a pharmacist, while her mother, Neelam Tripathi, is a homemaker. Divyanka hails from Bhopal and completed her schooling from the Carmel Convent School, Bhopal. She then completed her graduation from the Sarojini Naidu Government Girls PG College.

Divyanka had no plans to join the entertainment industry; in fact, she wanted to be a mountaineer. To achieve her goal, the diva even took a mountaineering course from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering in Uttarkashi. However, as life happened, Divyanka decided to start her career as an anchor on All India Radio. She later participated in various pageants and caught the attention of casting directors.

Divyanka Tripathi started her acting journey in Doordarshan 

Only a few know that Divyanka Tripathi started her acting career via a telefilm in Doordarshan. Later, she even hosted Doordarshan's popular show, Akash Vani. After this Divyanka did small roles in serials such as Yeh Dil Chahe More and Viraasat. After a year, Divyanka got her big break in 2006 when she bagged Zee TV's drama fiction, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann. The show's TRP spiked in no time, and Divyanka became a household name. After this, Divyanka acted in many soap operas and reality shows like Jjhoom India, Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabadwale, Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout, Chintu Chinki Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story and more.

Divyanka Tripathi's financial struggles 

Although Divyanka Tripathi worked in several shows, the gap between them was quite large. Hence, Divyanka had extreme financial vows during these phases, wherein she didn't even have the money to buy ration for her pet dog. Divyanka, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, revealed that she would do anything to earn money, such as store the toothpaste boxes and sell them as scrapes. In Divyanka's words:

"After you finish a show, you start your struggle again for the next job. There are times when you have no money, you have to pay your bills, EMIs and then there were bigger responsibilities. I would collect even the boxes of toothpaste, that iska bhi ek ek rupya aayega. I would keep it safe somewhere and then would sell that scrap and get money. You have to make your brain work. You have to find your ways to earn money."

A friend's financial advice saved Divyanka's life 

Divyanka Tripathi, in an interview with BollywoodBubble, shared that one of her friends advised her to keep a part of her earning aside and save it as an emergency fund. This fund will help her in times of crisis. Talking about it, Divyanka shared that when she had no work, this fund itself saved her life and helped her pay all the bills and sustain life. Divyanka further added:

"I swear that saved my life. That saved me, my house, my EMIs. But there was a time when everything was exhausted."

Divyanka Tripathi's iconic serial, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein

Divyanka Tripathi's life took a turn for the better when she was cast as the lead protagonist, 'Dr. Ishita Iyer Bhalla', in Ektaa Kapoor's iconic serial, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Her portrayal of the character, alongside Karan Patel and Ruhanika Dhawan, catapulted the show to new heights, breaking all previous records and and earning an all time high TRP. This success not only made the show a household name but also elevated Divyanka's status in the industry.

After this serial, Divyanka Tripathi became the highest-paid actress in India. When the serial was on air, Divyanka charged Rs. 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh per episode. The show changed Divyanka's life, and her net worth spiked to Rs. 40 crore. Divyanka is now hailed as one of the richest and most successful actresses in television.

Divyanka Tripathi's love life 

Divyanka's personal life, much like her professional one, has seen its share of ups and downs. In 2006, she was in a relationship with her Banoo Main Teri Dulhann co-star, Sharad Malhotra. However, their love story did not have a fairy-tale ending, and they parted ways on a bitter note. It was not until a few years later, on January 16, 2016, that Divyanka announced her engagement to her Yeh Hai Mohabbatein co-actor, Vivek Dahiya. Their on-set romance blossomed into a beautiful marriage, and they tied the knot on July 8, 2016.
