Divyanka had started her career with the show, Banoo Main Teri Dulhan where she was playing the role of a perfect bahu.
In the recent Alt Balaji Web series, Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala, Divyanka will be seen playing the role of a chef, Nitya alongside, Rajeev Khandelwal. Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, during the interview claimed that she doesn’t know cooking and has never cooked for her husband, Vivek Dahiya. When Divyanka was asked if she is fond of cooking in her real life, she revealed, “No, I am not fond of cooking. I am more fond of acting and doing outdoor activities. At home, I prefer to do dishes and clean, but cooking is not my forte. But this new show has taught me a lot and now I am feeling motivated to cook. This is very unusual that in the last three years, I didn’t cook anything for my husband. After working on this show, I have actually prepared 4-5 food items for him. That’s quite an improvement.”
Divyanka had once revealed that she loves cooking breakfast with husband, Vivek Dahiya. She had said, “Catching up in-between our hectic schedules and spending time with each other is something that we both look forward to. It's so relaxing when we prepare oatmeal and smoothies for breakfast together followed by a workout to kickstart our day. Spending quality time with Vivek is de-stressing for me."
Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya and husband, Vivek Dahiya had won the last season of the dance reality show, Nach Baliye 8. Talking about whether the drama is preferred in the show over content, she commented, “I can’t say that but it’s something that should be left for the audience to decide because I am not really a reality show viewer. I don’t even know how these reality shows look on screen. I have worked in it but I neither watched my own appearances on Nach Baliye nor I have seen all episodes of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein or Dulhan. But this time I want to watch Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala. I am no one to judge here as I don’t know what kind of content actually works on television. I do my work and move ahead.” (Suggested Read: Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor And Khushi Kapoor Get Emotional As They Unveil Sridevi's Wax Statue)
Talking about the new concept of bringing ex-couples together on Nach Baliye 9, she was quoted as saying, “It’s a wonderful concept, so much masala. I had watched the second episode and I was glued to the television, we couldn’t change the channel. It’s different from what has been happening since last seasons. There is always a silent wish that though these are exes, they should come together again. I was feeling that for most of the exes.”
Talking to the IANS about her web series, when Divyanka was asked why young generation prefer web over television, she had revealed, “We have to understand that on TV we cannot do much of experimentation because we are still catering to an audience of all age groups, and a major section of them are traditionalists. We have to keep at it to bring the change, but (it will happen) slowly."
Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, who has always played the character of perfect bahu in all her previous shows, will be seen donning a modern avatar in Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala. While talking about her look in the web series, she revealed, “I also worked on my look because I had to look different from anything I had done before. I changed my hairstyle and my body type. A lot of people including my family, my husband and my well-wishers wanted me to be hot and glamorous on screen. Basically, they wanted to see me in a different space. All this while, I wasn't getting the right opportunity. When I got it, I worked hard to look the part. The story was shot in the span of eight years, and for the younger part, I had to shed oodles of weight. I even had to cut my hair for that. Mere liye mushkil tha baal katana. I had this long and silky hair. Even fans were unhappy when I got the hair cut because they loved my hair. But I couldn't tell them the reason. I did a lot of effort to look different and that has paid off, I guess.” (Do Read: Shilpa Shetty Kundra And Raj Kundra Dance With Their Son, Viaan, As They Bid Adieu To Ganpati Ji)
