While #MeToo movement is spreading like wildfire in India, we have already come across many famous names who have been accused of sexual misconduct. While the torch bearer of #MeToo movement in India, Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment, there are other famous figures coming out and sharing their dreadful stories. After Sajid Khan, Nana Patekar, Vikas Behl, another name has come to the forefront and it's of T-Series head honcho, Bhushan Kumar. The wake of #MeToo movement has given courage to many women to come out and share their stories. So, now an anonymous user has opened up about her sexual misconduct story which she had probably faced by the hands of Bhushan. The random Twitter user wrote, "This is my #metoo moment with the so-called mafia of the industry ‘Bhushan Kumar’. This happened 3 years back, I was supposed to do a film which was produced by Bhushan. I met him for the first time in his office, it was a formal meeting, and everything was finalised verbally, and papers were to be signed the next day”. The user further wrote, “After half n hour I get a msg frm bhushan himself, asking me to meet him at his bungalow in versova in the evening. I msged him bak saying I am not comfortable coming to any bungalow. He then msgd me bak saying that hes looking for a relationship that involves work and pleasure and that if given, he can make me a superstar.” Here are the snapshots of the shocking tweet:
After this, Bhushan Kumar slammed the allegations and in a statement said, “I am appalled and anguished to know that my name has been dragged in this metoo by some anonymous person(s). The allegations against me are bad on the face of it. I have enjoyed an impeccable reputation and have always maintained professionalism. The tweet has been used as a tool to defame me and malign my reputation. I have taken this allegation very seriously and lodging a complaint with the cyber cell of the Mumbai Police to track the mysterious people(s) whose twitter handles have disappeared within seconds of uploading the malicious tweet. And now, Bhushan’s wife, Divya Khosla Kumar has come out in open to support her husband. She stated that all the allegations made against him are untrue and baseless. In a statement that she released on Twitter, Divya mentioned that he is a man full of values and principles and it's unfortunate that he is being dragged into this.
Her tweet could be read as, “My husband has got TSeries where it is today purely on the basis of extreme hard work. People even stood up against Lord Krishna who’s praiseworthy. Though the #metoo movement is meant to clean up the society, it’s sad that some people have started misusing it. I have been with my husband hand in hand as he’s taken his father’s dream forward. He’s a man full of values and principles.
