'Disclosure Day' Ending Explained, The Alien Tech Mystery And How Hidden Secrets Are Exposed

Steven Spielberg has a record of bringing something out of the box for the audience. The director has experimented with every genre over the years, and this time, he is back with another science fiction thriller, Disclosure Day. The film is out now in theatres and has clearly left an impression on critics. The trailer of the film, released on June 12, 2026, created a lot of curiosity among the viewers to find out what was happening with the characters.

Aliens are revealed to have entered Earth a long time ago

Disclosure Day reveals a close link between the aliens and the American military. It is disclosed that both sides shared a close relationship with each other for many years, and the military tried to hide the fact from everyone. The technology brought by the aliens helped to improve a lot of other things. Notably, the biggest secret here is that the aliens were living here after the Second World War, when they arrived outside Roswell, New Mexico.

The secret behind the existence of the aliens was also hidden from the President, and the military collaborated with the Wardex Corporation to maintain full secrecy while trying to learn something from the extraterrestrial life at the same time. They were able to do autopsy tests on the dead and use other procedures on the living things. One of them was alive until the present day, and certain individuals have started claiming that the conspiracy was aimed at keeping human beings safe.

After the conspiracy continued for many years, the aliens discovered two people who could be their channels. On the other hand, the employees of Wardex Corporation also could not take it anymore, and they eventually opted to go against the company, leading to that particular day when the conspiracy was revealed in front of everyone.

‘Margaret’ and ‘Daniel’ were chosen by the aliens

‘Margaret’ and ‘Daniel’ were possibly one of those lucky people who were given the power to communicate. They were chosen by the aliens. The powers were available for a brief period, and the memories of the same were erased. But the powers undoubtedly changed the lives of ‘Margaret’ and ‘Daniel.’

‘Margaret’ could easily understand others and was fluent in multiple languages. She could also see through everyone’s thoughts. While she does not have a lot of control over the power due to the fact that she has no faith in it, things change when the memories return. It easily plays with ‘Margaret’s’ fear that she will turn into someone’s religion. But she eventually accepts her fate after understanding the responsibilities that she needs to take.

On the other hand, ‘Daniel’ can understand the most complicated equations, and he knows everything about numbers. He is chosen by ‘Hugo’ at Wardex to reveal the information to everyone. ‘Margaret’ could appear empathetic, and once she interacts with a cardinal, it triggers her power to connect with other minds. 

What is the mystery behind the alien technology featured in Disclosure Day? What happens in the end?

The alien technology that appears on Disclosure Day refers to three pieces. Wardex has already started investigating the devices and is conducting experiments at the same time. While the full story of the devices is not revealed, they can be used for various reasons, including the formation of telepathic abilities. The only limitation here is that safety must be maintained.

‘Scanlon’ can use the device to have control over anyone’s mind. But he eventually suffers from some complications in his body, following which a medical team arrives to stabilise him. The device shows its negative side at one point in the movie, where a soldier holds it and disappears for some time, before he eventually collapses. The devices can be used safely only by a certain section of people, including ‘Margaret,’ who can control power sources and create illusions if needed. 

The ending of the film is expected to lead to some debate. Notably, it shows ‘Margaret’ and ‘Daniel’ managing to convince the staff members of a new station to help them reveal the secrets of the aliens to everyone. The plan works, and everyone is shocked to learn the truth. ‘Hugo’ reveals that an alien is under his protection, and the extraterrestrial life secretly gets in touch with ‘Daniel’. He then tells the same thing to ‘Margaret,’ and the movie ends here as ‘Margaret’ asks the others to listen.
