Dimple Kapadia, a name that needs no introduction as she is a bundle of talent. Way ahead of her times, Dimple sent shockwaves with her knotted shirts, polka-dotted skirts and red swimsuit in Raj Kapoor’s film Bobby. She became a sensation after her debut film, and since then, there has been no looking back for this gorgeous actress.
Six months before the release of her debut film, Bobby, Dimple Kapadia had married the superstar of Indian cinema, Rajesh Khanna in 1973. Together they weaved a paradise with their two daughters, Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna. Dimple is quite outspoken and never minces her words. As she turned 66, we stumbled upon an old interview of the actress calling Nana Patekar obnoxious.
Dimple Kapadia and Nana Patekar worked together for the first time in the film, Prahaar: The Final Attack in 1991. They later featured together in the movies Angaar (1992) and Krantiveer (1994). And after a long gap, the two veteran actors marked their reunion with the film, Tum Milo Toh Sahi in 2010.
In an old video, Dimple got in a candid chat with film critic Anupama Chopra, wherein the actress talked about Nana Patekar’s temperament. When Anupama asked Dimple if Nana has mellowed down, she revealed, "I think he is obnoxious." When further probed if it was in a good or a bad way, Dimple hesitatingly answered, "In a good and a bad way." Sharing details about the same, Dimple said:
“As far as his talent goes, there's no match to him. He is an extremely talented man. When I see talent like him, sau khoon maaf hai. Sab kuch maaf hai. Meri jaan bhi lelo. That's the effect he has on me. But, as a person, with me he has been very, very nice, kind and a good friend. But I have also seen his terrible side…the dark side. We all have a dark side which is nicely and safely kept aside."

Talking about Dimple Kapadia’s love story with Rajesh Khanna, when the superstar, met Dimple for the first time, he was completely smitten by her charm. Without wasting any time, Rajesh proposed to Dimple for marriage. And being a huge fan of Kaka (Rajesh Khanna), she didn’t think twice before accepting his proposal. Dimple was just 16 when she had gotten married to Rajesh, who was 15 years elder than her.
Dimple quit acting after her marriage at Rajesh’s request. In 1982, Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna got separated, and after two years of their separation, Dimple returned to acting and featured in superhit films like Saagar, Rudaali, Gardish, Krantiveer, Dil Chahta Hai and many others.
