Dileep Raj recently passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of 47. The Kannada actor had a heart attack when he was at home, which led to his sudden demise. Notably, Dileep was transported to the Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru before his death. Popular faces from the entertainment industry, such as Rishab Shetty, have expressed their grief on different platforms.
The late actor was active in the film industry since 2005. He made his film debut with Boyfriend. Apart from these, he was a producer of many other projects and was a dubbing artist for films like Srusti, Olave, Parichaya, Aa Dinagalu, and Anthu Inthu Preethi Banthu. Outside the world of movies, Dileep Raj also had a family, and he shared glimpses of the same through his Instagram handle over the years.

While Dileep Raj built a fan base over the years with his work in many films, he also spent a lot of time with his family. Dileep was married to Srividya. Although it remains unknown when they tied the knot, Dileep and Srividya were the parents of two daughters, Dhruti and Aditi. The pair’s marriage has been reported as a “love-cum-arranged” union by multiple news outlets.

Srividya has also been working in the entertainment industry. She and Dileep collaborated with each other and produced some Kannada TV shows. This included Hitler Kalyana, where Dileep also portrayed an important character. Apart from that, they produced some other shows like Paaru, Malemahadeshwara, and Vidya Vinayak. The couple was living in their dream house called Raj Shree for the last few years.

Furthermore, Srividya has also been active on Instagram with more than 9,000 followers. Her last post featured a video captured in October 2025 on the occasion of Diwali. The video had a snap of the entire family, which also included Dileep Raj.

Although Dileep Raj was a part of many films in his career, he reportedly struggled to become a superstar. Dileep had once said in an interview that he was never supported by a big production house and did not have anyone else in the family working in the same field, due to which he failed to get the perfect opportunities. However, Dileep continued his journey as a dubbing artist. On the other hand, he had even claimed that he worked hard to enjoy life instead of earning. He said that he wanted to retire at 50 and spend his remaining days at a farmhouse in Ramanagara. Dileep recalled his experience at the place by saying:
“Whenever I go there, I never feel like returning.”

Dileep Raj was initially a part of several TV shows that aired on ETV Kannada, Udaya TV, and DD Chandana. Although he made his film debut in 2005, Dileep gained recognition for his role as Hemant in the romantic comedy drama, Milana. The film featured Puneeth Rajkumar in the lead and was released in 2007. Dileep also appeared in a Telugu film, Darlinge Osina Darlinge, in 2014. Darling Krishna’s Love Mocktail 3 marked his final screen appearance.
