Recently, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio shared that Mike would be in bigger trouble after Dianna presents her side of the story. Amid this, a former NFL player has the 'worst' news for Mike.

Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel's controversy has been a distraction for the Patriots claims ex-NFL player

Since the last two months, the controversy involving Dianna has followed Mike everywhere he goes. Now, former Super Bowl MVP, Dexter Jackson, has added extra pressure on the New England Patriots head coach by openly suggesting that the controversy surrounding Dianna and Mike is still not over. During a recent appearance on a Miami sports panel, Dexter shared that if the New England Patriots struggle early in the season, the headlines surrounding Mike and Dianna’s affair drama could continue hanging over the Patriots organisation for months. Dexter claimed that the controversy has been a distraction for the Patriots. He said:

"I can assure you that this situation has been a distraction for the Patriots. It will probably last the whole year, and questions will be asked all season long."

Mike Vrabel has developed a new strategy amid controversy

Initially, when Page Six published the first series of cosy pictures of Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini, the former attempted to dismiss the controversy by calling it 'laughable' during a press conference. Many NFL analysts believe that Mike’s initial response intensified the public attention. However, recently, Mike has developed a new strategy. According to a report by Marca.com, Mike has been giving short answers and attempting to redirect the conversation related to football.

Mike’s new strategy has earned praise from some media personalities. In fact, CBS Sports Radio host, Zach Gelb pointed out on X (formerly Twitter) how Mike’s new strategy might shift the focus from the controversy for the time being. Zach mentioned that the controversy will come up again when Dianna decides to present her side of the story. Zach wrote:

"Mike Vrabel didn’t help himself by calling the Dianna Russini situation laughable when this entire storm started. Today, he handled himself like a football coach should. Don’t add to the story on the questions you’re asked, and be boring at the podium. Will this come up again? Sure, when Dianna speaks or if there’s any actual news that comes out instead of another TMZ photo dump. Vrabel should be focused on football and not adding more to this story because ultimately he’s judged on winning football games, and that’s why he should still be the coach."

However, former Super Bowl MVP, Dexter is not convinced about Mike’s new strategy. According to Dexter, the controversy has already affected the Patriots internally. He pointed out that the Patriots are trying to build momentum after a strong season and are depending on young quarterback, Drake Maye to continue improving. Dexter shared that distractions like this not only impact one person but a team as a whole. Dexter was quoted as saying:

"This is a team that just had a great year. They have a young quarterback who came in and played well, and they are trying to win one more game this year than they won last season. But with this distraction, you have to think of how it’s going to affect not only their young quarterback, but other players and the coaching staff, too."
