Dianna Russini has been dominating the headlines ever since cosy photos of her and New England Patriots' head coach, Mike Vrabel got leaked by Page Six. Moments after that, the former resigned from her position as the insider of The Athletic. On the other hand, Mike is getting a lot of support from his NFL team. Well now, the analyst of Pro Football talk, Mike Florio revealed that Dianna most probably forced The Athletic to come in support of her.
For those who do not know, soon after the cosy photos of Dianna Russini were released by Page Six, the executive editor at The Athletic, Steven Ginsberg came forward and expressed his support for Dianna. At that time, Steven had defended Dianna and explained that the photos are misleading and out of context. Steven Ginsberg was quoted as saying:
"These photos are misleading and lack essential context. These were public interactions in front of many people. Dianna is a premier journalist covering the NFL, and we’re proud to have her at The Athletic."

While Steven Ginsberg’s statement was earlier seen as the standard way to show support, it is now being re-examined. Recently, Mike Florio, the analyst of Pro Football Talk, came forward and mentioned that Dianna most probably would have forced The Athletic to defend her. Further, Mike revealed that he won't be surprised if he finds a chat between Steven and Dianna regarding the affair row. He shared:
"I believe there’s a chance that Steven Ginsberg issued the statement he issued because she [Russini] was very aggressive in demanding it as part of her version. I need this from my employer. Do you not believe in me? Are you not going to stand behind me? You have to say you support me. It would not surprise me if there are text messages, if they communicated that way. Slack messages… But some record of a very aggressive effort to get him to just go along with her version."

Mike continued to mention that if his assumptions are right, then he expects Dianna Russini to be right, amid her affair row with Mike Vrabel. He explained, "And if she’s going to push that hard, if she did, she better be right. If you make that play, if you go all in trying to get somebody else to vouch for you and you’re not telling the truth, you’re dragging them into the mud puddle with you. So you better be right."

Mike Florio also explained that whenever Dianna Russini comes ahead to share her first statement on the ongoing controversy, she will most probably change the entire situation. She could even make things difficult for Mike Vrabel, who is getting immense support from the team, New England Patriots. In the recent NBC sports column, Mike Florio stated:

"However it happens, that’s the biggest unknown piece in all of this. Depending on what she says (if she says anything), it could reshuffle the deck in a way that complicates Vrabel’s situation to the point at which it’s not possible to continue."
Talking about Dianna, she is a popular sports journalist, who is best-known for covering the NFL. Reportedly, in 2015, she joined ESPN and later became a top NFL insider. In April 2026, she resigned from The Athletic due to her controversy with Mike Vrabel. In her personal life, she has been married to Kevin Goldschmidt since 2020. The couple shares two children, Michael Andrew and Joseph Kevin. In the past few days, several questions have been raised on Dianna.
