Dia Mirza had embraced motherhood with the arrival of her first child, Avyaan Azad Rekhi with her husband, Vaibhav Rekhi, on May 14, 2021. Since then, she has been a hands-on mom and has been enjoying every phase of being a mother. He was born ahead of the delivery date in an emergency C-section delivery and because of which he was in the NICU.
Every now and then she takes to her Instagram handle to share small glimpses of her baby boy, Avyaan. On December 14, 2021, Dia Mirza Rekhi had taken to her IG handle to share a cutesy picture of her son, Avyaan Azad Rekhi, on his seven-month birthday. Sharing the photo, the actress had written:
''Our little mowgli turns 4 months old today. May you witness the infinite beauty, wonder and magic of our world Avyaan Azaad. The circle of life is complete with you around. (To help those who are getting confused about his age: 4months is his corrected age because he was born extremely premature. So while he turns 7months today he is 4months old. #ifyouknowyouknow)".

A few hours ago, Dia Mirza took to her IG handle to share a cute video of her son, Avyaan where he can be seen playing with clouds, stars in his play gym. Dia Mirza is a very eco-friendly person, so she keeps in mind sustainability and eco-friendly natural products. Sharing the video, the actress wrote a beautiful note in the caption with a lot of emoticons. It can be read as:
“Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket. Avyaan loves the handmade crocheted, and made with natural fibres and colours. #GrowingUpWithShumee #PlayTimeWithShumee #5MonthsOld #Milestones."
The actress had bid goodbye to 2021 with a beautiful video and a heartfelt note in which she had expressed gratitude for experiencing motherhood. The caption could be read as:
“Thank you #2021 for making me a Mother. It was a year filled with incredible joy, a near-death experience, the early birth of our son, and some very testing times. But the lessons are well learnt and the gratitude runs deep. The biggest learning – the toughest times don’t last. Breathe. Witness. Surrender. And be grateful. Every single day.”

A few days back, Dia Mirza had shared a video of her son, Avyaan Azad Rekhi, on her IG stories and had accidentally gave the first full glimpse of him. In the video, Dia had handed over a stuffed toy to her son, who could be seen playing peek-a-boo with it, which eventually had revealed his face. She had captioned it as:
“Peek-a-boo!!! Playtime.”
