'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', Delhi HC Allows Films OTT Release With Unauthorised Song, Demands Rs. 50L

Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar: The Revenge has broken all the records after it was dropped in the theatres back in March 2026. The movie, which was directed by Aditya Dhar, was something that Bollywood has never experienced, and in a way, changed the recent expectations from Hindi films, by setting the bar high. Aditya Dhar's spy universe is, in a word, a massive hit, which not only featured Ranveer Singh but also some famous Bollywood actors, who left no stone unturned in making the movie one of a kind.

Delhi HC allows Dhurandhar: The Revenge's release on OTT

After a 50-day theatrical run, the movie is all set to be streamed on OTT platforms. For Netflix, it's now streaming outside India with the title. Raw and Undekha, which will show the uncensored version of the movie, making the movie three minutes longer. From the beginning, Dhurandhar has been facing several legal cases, and even just before the release, something happened.

With the OTT release too, the case was the same, as Trimurti Films filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Aditya Dhar's B62 over the unauthorised use of the song Tirchhi Topiwale from the 1989 film Tridev. However, recently, HC has allowed the OTT release of the movie, stating that it's too late to sue the movie. It's argued by the court that the movie was released two months ago in theatres, and it ran seamlessly without any complaints as of now, and thus, stopping the OTT release would be 'inconvenient' and 'unfair' to the filmmakers.

It was stated that several songs had been remixed previously from the film, and no complaint was raised, so it seemed to them as if they had awakened from their deep slumber. While the movie is releasing on OTT platforms, the court protected the plaintiff's interest by asking T-series to deposit Rs. 50 lakh, so if Trimurti Films wins the case, the damage fee will be paid already.

More about Dhurandhar: The Revenge

It was in December, when Dhurandhar Part 1 was released, and the movie instantly became a hit. In the movie, we have seen how 'Hamza' reached Pakistan and killed Lyari's king, 'Rehman Dakait'. The movie introduced us to what might happen, and what happened in the sequel was something extraordinary. There has been a debate over who liked which part the most, and while some felt that part 1 was better, to some other fans, part 2 was something that Bollywood had never seen. In the second part, the plot has been kept twisted, while brutality had no limits, which made the fans stand on the edge of their seats, screaming, 'wait! What?' in every climax.

'Hamza's past was revealed in the movie. The audience got to see a transformation of a man who left personal battle behind and went on to do everything for his country, because after everything he lost, he was left with 'junoon', and that was to make his country free from brutal terrorism. In the first part, we have seen the 26/11 Mumbai attack and how it hit 'Hamza', who swore to kill everyone who was behind this, and in Part 2, his revenge became epic.
