Chandra Grahan, 'Dhurandhar 2' Makers Pushed The Trailer Release To Avoid Ill-Impacts Of Eclipse

Ranveer Singh's upcoming film, Dhurandhar: The Revenge's trailer was earlier scheduled to release on March 3, 2026, to raise the excitement of Holi. However, the plans were shifted, which left many wondering why the makers didn't drop the trailer. The reason for postponing the trailer release is due to Chandra Grahan, which is visible in India during the last phase.

Why have makers of Dhrurandhar 2 postponed the trailer release of the upcoming film?

As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the film revealed that the makers postponed the film's trailer due to the lunar eclipse. Aditya Dhar decided to push the trailer launch as it is believed that no auspicious work should take place on the day of the eclipse. The trailer launch was also planned for noon, which coincided with the Chandra Grahan timing, i.e. from 3:20 pm to 6:46 pm. So, the team decided to postpone the trailer launch to avoid the ill effects of the eclipse on March 3, 2026. The source was quoted as saying:

"Reports of Dhurandhar: The Revenge's trailer release on March 3 weren't mere rumors. The makers genuinely planned to unveil it that day. But they were later informed that March 3 witnesses a Chandra Grahan, which is considered inauspicious for new beginnings. The inauspicious period is said to be from 9:39 am to 6:46 pm. Trailers are usually launched around noon, and this timing falls within the window. Hence, the team decided to postpone the trailer release."

It was also revealed that the makers were planning a grand trailer launch event in Mumbai at NMACC on March 5, 2026, but they later decided to digitally release it without any event. As per reports, it is being said that the trailer might release digitally on March 5 or March 6. But the makers have not yet confirmed any official date for the trailer launch of the much-anticipated film.

Will Akshaye Khanna be part of Dhurandhar 2?

Since Akshaye Khanna's character, 'Rehman Dakait', had a 'Kasainuma' end in the first instalment of the film, his fans are wondering if it would be possible for his character to return in Dhurandhar 2. As per a new report, Akshaye Khanna will allegedly return to the sets soon. The first part of the film gave a glimpse of the sequel, which explores Ranveer Singh's transformation from 'Jaskirat Singh Rangi' to undercover agent 'Hamza Ali Mazari'. And how he rose as the gangster in Lyari after 'Rehman Dakait's death. The Filmfare shared the news that the second part of Dhurandhar will give a backstory of Akshaye Khanna's character, 'Rehman Dakait's' life. The report can be read as:

"Our sources confirm that Akshaye Khanna will return to sets for a short one-week shoot, aimed at expanding his character’s backstory and adding more layers to his role in the next chapter of the franchise."
