After Dharmendra married Hema Malini, he faced a lot of trouble with his first family. But, Hema Malini made sure never to disrupt the bonding of Dharmendra with his first wife, and children.
The entire Deol family reunited, proving that 'Apne toh aakhir apne hote hai'. Recently, Hema Malini stepped out in the city to watch her step-son, Sunny Deol's film, Gadar 2. Dharmendra shared an unseen video, wherein he bared his heart out and expressed how it feels after dreams come true. However, he later deleted the video.

Hema Malini praised Sunny Deol and his acting skills in the blockbuster hit film, Gadar 2. Hema, who always kept herself away from Dharmendra's first family, saw the film on August 18, 2023, and happily gave bytes to the media. She shared that the movie was amazing and praised the directors. She also added that Sunny was super in the film. Hema Malini was quoted as saying:
"Sunny is superb, Utkarsh, Anil Sharma ji's son unhone ne bhi bohut sundar acting kiya hai. Jo nayi ladki hai, woh bhi bohut acchi hai. Yeh picture dekh kar ek dum rasjtra k prati jo bhav hone chahiye, patriotism, woh bohut hi hai."

On August 12, 2023, Esha hosted a special screening of her brother, Sunny's film, Gadar 2. Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol graced the event. It was the first time when we saw Dharmendra's children posing together for the cameras. Sunny and Bobby cutely hugged their sister, Esha. Later, the trio was joined by Ahana and her son. A fan page shared a video, and Dharmendra re-shared it on his IG page with an old Hindi song, 'Behna ka abhimaan tu'.
