Bollywood's veteran couple, Dharmendra and Hema Malini never fail to give us inspiration. The couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony, despite the fact that the entire world was against their union. For the unversed, Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur, who had refused to divorce him. He had tied the knot with Prakash Kaur in the year 1957.
Hema Malini and Dharmendra married each other in the year 1980. Hema Malini gave birth to Esha Deol in the year 1981. After four years, Hema and Dharmendra were blessed with another daughter, whom they have named, Ahana Deol.

Recently, we stumbled upon an unseen picture of Dharmendra and Hema's wedding from 42 years ago. In the photo, Hema Malini was decked up in a green-hued saree. She looked gorgeous donning a neckpiece and matching earrings. Her bridal glow was clearly visible on her face as she radiated happiness. On the other hand, Dharmendra was looking content in a white kurta-pyjama.

Earlier, in an interview with the National Herald, Hema Malini had opened her heart to some of the aspects of her life. When Hema was asked if she is happy, the actress said that she wouldn’t say everything is perfect. She also added that one doesn’t always get what one wants in life. Explaining it further, Hema had said:
"I never gave myself the opportunity to miss all the things that I didn’t have. I had my two daughters. The last 30 years of my life just sped by with them. Taking them to school, looking at their homework, doing their hair and managing their tantrums I relived my own childhood. Now when they’re grown up I suddenly look back and I feel, arrey, I missed out on something!"
In the same interview, Hema talked about the missing aspect of her life. Hinting at her husband's absence, she shared that she had thought that they would come to a situation where they will all get time for each other, which never happened. She had shared:
"Maybe I expected more of my husband’s company. I thought we’ll be together more often. I never felt that absence until now. When I married I thought we’d come to an arrangement that would suit all of us. Lekin nahin hua. But it’s okay. I accept the situation. I got my daughters. He has many problems to look after. As a human being I’m bound to have regrets….But he loves me like mad. When I think of his feelings for me everything seems worth it, even his physical absence."
On May 2, 2022, Hema Malini and Dharmendra completed 42 years of marital bliss!
