A while ago, Suryakumar Yadav’s beloved wife, Devisha Shetty took to her Instagram Stories to share a cutesy photo with her husband. In the same, the captain of the Indian team was seen giving a tight hug to Devisha on the ground, after winning the World Cup 2026. It is worth mentioning that Devisha looked extremely proud of Suryakumar in the photo.

Along with that, Devisha Shetty also shared snaps from the on-field celebration after Team India won the finals. Devisha shared a glimpse into the light show, which featured the trophy and confirmed India's World Cup 2026 win. It is worth mentioning that in one of those photos, Suryakumar and Abhishek Sharma were also spotted. Lastly, she reshared a post by the Indian Cricket team, which featured Suryakumar holding the World Cup 2026 trophy and placing it with all the previous trophies.

Suryakumar Yadav spoke about the importance of winning World Cup at home soil

Moments after India’s historic World Cup 2026 win, Suryakumar Yadav spoke about it and revealed that after a long time, India won the title in 2024. And since then, they have been winning back-to-back. The captain of the Indian team was quoted as saying:

"I’m very excited by the way things have gone since then. The drought ended after a really long time and after that we never looked back. Everything changed in 2024. From there we understood how this team needs to work going forward, and it’s been a wonderful journey since then. We wanted to do something special in front of our home crowd and we want to continue doing that and never stop."

India’s World Cup 2026 win

On March 8, 2026, the Narendra Modi Stadium witnessed the most historic moment, after India won the 2026 World Cup. For the unversed, India defeated New Zealand by a huge margin of 96 runs. The Men in Blue batted first and gave a target of 256 runs, all thanks to Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Shivam Dube. During the second innings, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishan Kishan dominated the match with their amazing bowling and fielding skills. The coach of the Indian team, Gautam Gambhir looked really happy and proud of the entire team.

Suryakumar Yadav and Devisha Shetty are clearly the cutest couple. Reportedly, the two met in 2012, during their college days and instantly felt a strong connection. Slowly and gradually, their bond strengthened and blossomed into love. In May 2016, Suryakumar and Devisha officially got engaged. A few months later, in July 2016, the duo got married in a traditional South Indian wedding ceremony. 

Reportedly, for the big day, Devisha opted for a Kanjeevaram saree with traditional gold jewellery.
