The actor passed away on September 27, 2026, at age 75. Though the exact cause of his death was not revealed, his death certificate mentioned the health problems the veteran star was facing.

It was Haskins’ agent, Jay Schacher, who confirmed the news of the actor’s death, calling it a “tragic loss.” During that time, it was revealed that Haskins was dealing with Parkinson’s disease, but the exact cause of his death was not revealed. But now it has been confirmed that his exact cause of death was Parkinson’s disease.

Apart from this, the death certificate also listed other significant health conditions the actor was suffering from, which include irritable bowel syndrome, depression, hypertension, and benign prostatic hyperplasia. Haskins died at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California. Before his death, he was residing in an assisted living facility and didn’t disclose his diagnosis even to people close to him.
Dennis Haskins was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease eight years ago
After Haskins’ death, reports revealed that the actor secretly battled Parkinson's. Haskins was a regular at Dimples Karaoke, a famous karaoke bar located in Burbank, California. A statement regarding his secret battle with the disease was released by Dimples, in which it was mentioned that Haskins hid his illness from people as he didn’t want unwanted attention. The statement can be read as:
“About eight years ago, he became ill. He had been silent about his fight with Parkinson’s, among other health concerns, because he did not want the attention. He did not want to have to tell people. He would say, 'What do I even say?' So I respected his wishes and stayed quiet, and I helped him through his journey into the next chapter of his life.”
Haskins’ ex-wife, Sarah Quinones, later confirmed to TMZ that the actor had been suffering from Parkinson’s before his death, saying he kept his condition private, even from those closest to him. Sarah also stated that the actor had stopped responding to her or even close friends' calls when they reached out to him. The actor was last seen in public at a Los Angeles Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs game on Dec. 29, 2018.

Haskins was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on November 18, 1950. He went to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. While in college, Haskins was deeply involved in journalism, theatre, campus entertainment, and community work. As entertainment chairman, Haskins helped bring Ike and Tina Turner to UTC in 1973. He was also a founding member of his college’s theatre group.
Haskins first portrayed the role of ‘Mr. Belding’ in Good Morning, Miss Bliss, which was broadcast on Disney Channel in 1988. When Saved by the Bell arrived in 1989, Haskins became a notable face in the series. He returned for Saved by the Bell: The New Class, which aired from 1993 to 2000. Years later, in 2015, he returned to the role when several cast members reunited for a Saved by the Bell sketch on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
