Our Bajirao and Mastaani, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone became husband and wife on November 14-15, 2018 when they got married in Italy as per Konkani and Punjabi-Sindhi rituals. Be it pre-wedding or post-wedding, DeepVeer, as fans affectionately call them, have never shied away from publicly acknowledging the respect and love they have for each other. Deepika has now come out in the open to talk about her first date with Ranveer. As per a report in Pinkvilla, Deepika said, "I was at YashRaj and he was there and he was flirting like it’s nobody’s business and he was dating somebody else at this point and I was smiling to myself and told him, ‘You are flirting with me." Deepika also shared that when the two started dating, they frequently visited many restaurants but their most special moments were during the practice sessions for Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela at Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s house.
She further added, "Sir called us over for lunch and we were eating and apparently there was a piece of crab stuck in my tooth and he wanted to make me awkward and he said, ‘oh there’s a crab stuck in your mouth’ and I said, ‘Then take it out’. That moment all three of us won’t forget." And finally, Deepika revealed that their families met 3 years ago for the first time in 2015.
A couple of days back, Ranveer won the Best Actor Award for his acting in Padmaavat. When he accepted his award on the stage, he dedicated it to his wife, Deepika and made her teary-eyed with his emotional speech. Ranveer said, "Film main mujhe Rani nahi mili, lekin real life me mujhe meri rani mil gayi” Pointing towards Deepika, Ranveer added, “Baby, I love you, pichhle 6 saal main maine kuch bhi achieve kiya hai, kyunki aap ne mujhe grounded rakha, centered rakha, thank you for everything and I love you." In fact, talking about the same, Ranveer told a media portal, “I always had this dream where one day I would be sitting and Deepika would be sitting next to me and I'll be married to her and they'll call my name for Best Actor. I will turn around and give her a kiss and then I'll go up on stage and then I will receive my award and that happened last night (Star Screen Awards 2018) and it was magical.”
Ranveer and Deepika always speak reverently of each other. At a recent event, Ranveer shared, "Marriage is a best thing that happened to me. I am flying. I feel some kind of magic, some kind of power. I feel invincible. I feel like I have grown up. I feel like a man. I feel grounded, I feel secure. It's just been 10-15 days and I am loving it. I would highly recommend it to the entire young population of this country. Take it from me, it is great."
He then went on to praise Deepika and said, "I respect and admire her for what she has achieved. She is a much greater person. I am treated like a nawab in my home, my family has spoilt me. While Deepika is truly an independent woman, she runs her show, she is the CEO of her world. She has achieved the pinnacle of success. She is so much better at everything. I have learnt very early on that the key to success (in marriage) is just to say yes to everything. And she will be happy and your happiness should be in her happiness.
