After a lot of protests and controversies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmaavat hit the screens, starring stars like Shahid Kapoor, Deepika and her alleged boyfriend, Ranveer Singh. And the film has created history with its high Bollywood’s opening weekend records of $4.43 million overseas. With Deepika’s remarkable performance in the film, she was well appreciated by all. But there is one couple who is very dear to Deepika and their gesture was something which became the highlight of the news.
We are talking about Deepika’s Ex-boyfriend, Ranbir’s parents, Neetu Kapoor and veteran actor, Rishi Kapoor who praised the dimpled actress by sending her flowers with a personal note which said, “Excellent work!!! So very proud of you. Love Neetu and Rishi Kapoor.” The adorable couple had watched the movie at the special screening done by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Rishi gave thumbs up to the film. Recently, in return, Deepika took to her official Instagram handle to thank ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor’s parents. She posted the below picture of the bouquet and she captioned the image showing her gratitude towards them, “It was so lovely seeing both of you yesterday. Thank You for all the love & appreciation! @neetu54 #RishiKapoor" (Also checkout: Different Zodiac Signs And Their Reaction After A Breakup)
Isn’t it such a sweet gesture by ex-boyfriend’s parents to Deepika? We are totally in awe of this gesticulation. In one of the interviews to a leading tabloid, when Padmaavat actress was asked how did she feel about this gesture, she retorted, "Yes, it was very sweet of them. I was touched. I’ve worked with them in Love Aaj Kal and I have fond memories."
In another interview by a leading daily, thinking this might be the best complement for her, when she was asked the best complement she received for her performance, she was quoted as saying, "Well, it’s a bit awkward but it would have to be the one given to me by Javed Akhtar sahab. He said, ‘This is your Mother India.’ I just bowed my head in front of him. Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir was also present when he said it."
Being in the role of Rani Padmavati, when she was asked how did she feel about her character, the dusky beauty said, "Playing Rani Padmavati was tough. The most challenging part was that there were no crutches available to her. As a queen, she cannot scream or yell. She has to hold fort because her husband has been captured. She can’t break down because the entire kingdom is now looking at her. She’s the strength and courage of the entire community. So, she has to bottle up every emotion that she is feeling. When I played Mastani, I thought that was tough. But at least she went to war and had a sword in her hand, so there was a release. Over here, it was different. I found it more challenging than some of the other parts that I’ve played."
This gesture shows Deepika is still a dear one and the breakup with Ranbir Kapoor didn’t let affect her relationship with her ex-boyfriend’s parents. How sweet of you Neetu Ji and Rishi Ji!
