David Krumholtz was very open about his journey with thyroid cancer. His thyroid was removed, but he had issues with his weight. The actor stated that he had become very fat because he had hypothyroidism. He was on the highest dose of the medicine that people take to replace their thyroid. David could not eat without gaining, and a point had come when he reached 232 pounds. Conversations related to the actor using Ozempic to lose weight had also surfaced.

David Krumholtz confessed to taking Ozempic to lose 44 pounds

David Krumholtz once, in an interview on Michael Rosenbaum's Inside of You Podcast, admitted to seeing changes in his weight. This was after he followed the treatment for thyroid cancer. He shared that his metabolism was significantly affected, and for his 5-foot-6-inch height, his weight should have been 155 pounds. He gained 232 pounds, which put him in the overweight category. The actor used Ozempic to lose weight and had lost 44 pounds over the past six to seven months. David Krumholtz had stated:

"So 232, that was pretty overweight. And some people say, 'I've been on Ozempic for about six or seven months'. And that's about it. That's about all you're supposed to take it for. So I'm at the end. And I've lost 44 pounds."

David Krumholtz lost two pounds weekly after taking Ozempic

David Krumholtz had further stated that his metabolism had slowed by 100 per cent or more. The actor ballooned, swelled up, and he did not even realize that he had gained weight. He admitted that no one in the Hollywood industry admits to using Ozempic, but he had no shame in doing so. David Krumholtz also revealed that after he started using Ozempic, he started losing two pounds a week. In his words:

"So I'm not like losing a ton of weight; I'm eating smaller meals. The only, you know, hard part about Ozempic is the way it works: it essentially makes you nauseous. Slightly nauseous, but enough that you're halfway through a meal and you get nauseous, and you don't want to eat anymore, you know, so you're only eating half meals."

David Krumholtz shared that Ozempic made him eat less, but it had its own drawbacks. He shared that the nauseating feeling does not go away instantly but dissipates over time. The nauseating feeling does not last long. However, did you know that it was David Krumholtz's masseuse who had told him about a lump in his neck?

There is an interesting story behind David Krumholtz's thyroid cancer diagnosis. He shared that he was lucky to have been saved after he went to a masseuse. The actor had gone for a full relaxation massage. At the end of the massage, the masseuse massaged his neck. David could not understand what she was doing, as no one does that in front of the neck. At the end of the full relaxation massage, she told the actor that she felt a lump. David could not relax after that and did not think of anything.

The Harold & Kumar actor shared that thyroid cancer is something that, if diagnosed on time, can be treated. The problem is that if one does not catch it in time, it can quickly spread to the lungs. He shared that he was lucky but had a nervous breakdown. In his words:

"I had had a nervous breakdown that year, which was all because of the thyroid. Like your thyroid stops functioning and you get crazy depressed, and it really messes with your head. So it was kind of a relief. I was like, oh, that's why I've been freaking out. It's like I've been unhealthy. Like I'm not physically okay."
