In a tragic turn of events, former child actor, Daveigh Chase passed away at the age of 35. Daveigh grabbed attention with her performances and was best known for voicing 'Lilo' in Disney's Lilo & Stitch. She was best known for her memorable performances in film and TV during the early 2000s. However, she got out of the spotlight in 2016. The actress passed away after battling meningitis, which led to septic issues and her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, confirmed the news.

Daveigh Chase’s former manager calls out her alleged boyfriend for starting a GoFundMe page

Daveigh passed away after she was hospitalised for malnutrition. After her death, her former manager called out her alleged boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, for starting a GoFundMe page for the actress. For the unversed, the page started by Roy was a fundraiser to give Daveigh a “sense of home and peace in her final days.” Roy had claimed that Daveigh had a painful fallout with her family, and that was the moment he met her.

On the other hand, Daveigh’s former manager questioned Roy’s identity. He told TMZ that the actress’s family and friends don’t know Roy and the authenticity behind the page. Revealing how the actress had a trust account for her medical aid, her manager stated:

“A man claiming to be Daveigh’s boyfriend has launched a GoFundMe page purportedly on behalf of Daveigh and her family. Neither her family nor her close friends know who this person is. I can confirm Daveigh has a SAG trust account with more than enough funds to cover all medical and related expenses.”

Daveigh Chase’s alleged boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, gained limelight after he started a GoFundMe campaign for Daveigh. He mostly stayed out of the limelight and mentioned every detail about Daveigh’s life on the GoFundMe page. On the page, Roy mentioned that when they met, he had promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved.

On the page, Roy also mentioned an unknown fact about Daveigh’s childhood. He mentioned that the 35-year-old American actress had a painful fallout with her family. Roy added that the Ring actress was bullied and struggled hard to find safety. He also wrote that the actress had faced many hardships in life and found it difficult to live in downtown LA.

Daveigh Chase’s tragic final days

Daveigh Chase was known for her work in Lilo & Stitch and The Ring, and the latter brought her the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain. She was last seen in the independent films, Jack Goes Home and American Romance, and afterwards she stepped away from the limelight. In 2017, she stopped interacting with fans online. Instead, she decided to live a private life away from the entertainment world.

The former actress’s life came to an end on June 16, 2026. According to her alleged boyfriend, Roy, Daveigh was hospitalised due to several malnutrition issues, but the doctors found that she had multiple serious infections, such as meningitis and bloodstream infections. These infections eventually caused sepsis, a life-threatening condition. It led to a rapid organ failure. Roy has said he’s planning to use the GoFundMe page to give Daveigh a “proper memorial.”
