K-pop girl group NewJeans, briefly known as NJZ, was formed by music label ADOR, a sub-label of Hybe. The group consisted of five members, including Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyei, and was produced by Min Hee-jin. They made their debut in 2022 with the single, Attention. Eventually, their other singles like Hype Boy and Cookie became one of a kind, with the first becoming the longest-running song on the Billboard Global 200 by a K-pop female act. Well, in 2024, the group's members announced a short hiatus, following a dispute.

As of today, December 29, 2025, ADOR announced that K-pop band NewJeans' member Hanni is back with the label, while Minji is still in talks. What sent ripples through the internet and among the NewJeans's fans was that fact that a well-known member of the group, Danielle Marsh was dropped from the group after ADOR terminated her contract, additionally with the fact that the lebel has announced that they hold one of Danielle's family members and former producer, Min Hee-Jin legally accountable for causing a dispute and delaying the group's return. Here's what happened that might cause Danielle a multi-million-dollar legal suit from ADOR.

It was in 2024 when NewJeans and ADOR's parent company Hybe caught up in a major dispute, with the producer, Min Hee-Jin, claiming that the label was mistreating the group's members. On the other hand, Hybe executives claimed that Min Hee-Jin was trying to get full ownership of the group. The dispute led to Min's dismissal from the position of ADOR CEO.

The girls in the group supported Min and, through a stream, gave Hybe an ultimatum to bring Min back. It couldn't happen, and Min resigned, but she remained the band's producer. However, eventually the girls decided to begin their separate journey, which ADOR opposed and took to court. On December 29, 2025, ADOR released a statement, claiming that Hanni is returning while Minji is still in talks. According to the statement, ADOR has terminated the contract with Danielle and will take legal action against one of her family members and Min Hee-Jin for causing a dispute and a delay in the group's return. The statement reads:

"In Danielle Marsh's case, we determined it would be difficult for her to continue as a member of NewJeans and as an artist under ADOR, so we notified her today of the termination of her exclusive contract. Furthermore, we intend to hold legally accountable one of Danielle Marsh's family members and former CEO Min Hee-jin, who bear significant responsibility for causing this dispute and delaying NewJeans' return."

While not officially disclosed, reports are rife that ADOR may seek penalty fees and damages from Danielle Marsh. Some reports claimed that the charges might be in multi-million dollar amounts. Danielle has been one of the prominent figures of the group. She is currently 20 years old and was born in Australia before she shifted her base to South Korea. Apart from being a part of NJZ, Danielle has also been an ambassador of several famous brands like Celine, Burberry, YSL Beauty, and OMEGA.
