Wright County officials booked 35-year-old Cyrena Anne Quast on August 30, 2026, following an incident at a retail store in Monticello, Minnesota. Authorities allege she took two double packs of power tool batteries priced at roughly USD 580, with the case filed as a gross misdemeanor theft.
According to The Watch MN, a worker at the same location recognized Quast from a similar alleged incident two days prior and alerted law enforcement. The worker reportedly provided a description of a white Subaru and its license plate. Police say Quast later acknowledged taking the items.
Cyrena Anne Quast was released from custody the following day. While the allegation itself was straightforward, it is her booking photo that has fueled online conversation. The image circulated widely after many users noted a remarkable similarity between Quast, a St. Cloud resident, and international pop star Jennifer Lopez.
Arrest records reviewed by outlets suggest this is not her first encounter with police. Past bookings have been linked to a range of matters, including controlled substance possession, driving while intoxicated, theft, providing false identification, evading officers, operating without a valid license, trespass, and other traffic-related violations.
On the other hand, netizens immediately started reacting to the mugshot after it went viral. Social media users were spotted comparing Cyrena’s looks with Jennifer Lopez. “Looks like a man version of Jennifer Lopez. I’m sure she’ll be pleased,” one user wrote. “It’s probably her. She was just bored of being rich, so she decided to liven up her life with some shoplifting to spice up her life,” a second user wrote.
A third user even alleged that the woman in the mugshot was the real Jennifer Lopez. A fourth person wrote that Cyrena looks like she is about the same age and questioned why she could not earn any benefits from the same during the ‘90s.

For the unversed, Jennifer Lopez had once landed herself in a legal problem years ago. On the night of December 27, 1999, Jennifer Lopez was with her then-boyfriend Sean "Puffy" Combs at Club New York in Manhattan when an argument inside the venue escalated into gunfire.
Three bystanders were injured in the shooting. Lopez, Combs, his bodyguard Anthony "Wolf" Jones, and rapper Jamal "Shyne" Barrow left the club in a Lincoln Navigator. Police pursued the vehicle after it reportedly ran a red light and stopped it a short distance away. Officers found a 9mm handgun in the car. All occupants were taken into custody.
Lopez was taken to the Midtown South precinct, where she was reportedly handcuffed and held for about 14 hours. Officers later said she was visibly upset by the situation. Prosecutors initially charged Lopez with criminal possession of a weapon, but the charge was dropped the next day after investigators determined she had no connection to the gun.
Combs faced more serious charges of illegal gun possession and attempted bribery for allegedly offering his driver money to claim the weapon. He was acquitted after a 2001 trial, while Barrow was convicted on assault and gun charges and served nearly nine years. Lopez later described the period as a chaotic and heightened time in her early career.
