At the age of 31, Courtney recalled how difficult and hurtful it was to be treated as an object while she was underage for the adult remarks.

Courtney Stodden called out Jason Alexander for his behaviour when they were part of the comedy sketch, Funny or Die. She stated that she was just 17 years old when Jason rubbed his phone across her breast, and no one called out the situation and let the shooting go on.
Sharing the photo on her Instagram, Courtney talked about the crass joke by Jason as he kept rubbing his phone across her breasts while saying that there was no signal, but plenty in her chest. Not only this, he even crossed the line by stating that when she turned 18, he would take her behind the couch and have his way with her. She said:
"I was 17 years old in this photo. The older I get, the more impossible this is to understand. During this comedy sketch, Jason Alexander repeatedly rubbed his phone across my breasts while saying there was 'no signal' in my head but 'plenty of signal' in my chest. Later in the sketch, he joked that when I turned 18 he’d like to take me behind the couch and 'have his way' with me."
Courtney revealed that IMDb credited him as the writer of the episode, and it was difficult for her to understand the joke as she was a minor and didn't have the legal power to understand if she wanted to participate, as the contracts were signed by adults. She stated that the paycheck went to Doug and she was the only child there who kept suffering due to the crass sketch. She wrote:
"IMDb credits him as one of the writers of the episode. As an adult, that fact has become harder—not easier—for me to understand. I was a minor. I didn’t have the legal power to decide whether I wanted to participate. The contracts were signed by adults. The paycheck went to Doug. The production moved forward. I was the only child in the room. I felt so alone."
Courtney added that she doesn't take it as a comedy. It was nothing but a demeaning remark on a 17-year-old whose body was used as an adult joke. And people often tell her that she chose to be part of it, but legally she had no right to make the decision. She stated that this is the reason she wonders how adults can pass a remark on a mind like that. She expressed the need for better laws for children to keep them protected from such situations.
Jason Alexander expressed regret about the crass joke
Courtney Stodden revealed in an interaction that she was 17 at that time and her safety was in the hands of the adults around her. The reason she chose to speak now is not about revisiting the past but to help create a better future for kids. On the other hand, Alexander apologized for the whole thing. He said:
"Looking back at the comedy sketch in which Ms. Stodden and I participated in 2012, I completely agree that it was inappropriate and I truly regret it. But more importantly, I am deeply sorry for any harm or distress it has caused Ms. Stodden. I offer her my sincerest apologies."
