Cole Tomas Allen has been identified as the man who allegedly fired shots at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The 31-year-old hails from California, and the whole shooting incident at the high-profile event shook the country. At the same time, a secret service agent was injured in the chaos. Although Reuters confirmed that Cole was taken into custody after the incident, the federal agencies have not officially confirmed his identity. Instead, media and internet users are digging out updates about the man. In turn, they found some important insights about his family.

According to the Daily Mail, law enforcement officers visited Cole Tomas Allen's home after his arrest. The public records state that Cole Tomas Allen belongs to a family of six. At the same time, he is one of four siblings. The 31-year-old has two sisters, Stephanie and Arviana, and a brother named Gabriel. Since Cole's arrest, his social media photos have been circulating online. Some of them include his graduation ceremony, personal celebrations and pictures of his family reflecting their strong bond.

Meanwhile, Cole's family has not made any public statement over the incident. Even the authorities did not specify if his family had any idea about Cole's plan to fire shots at such a high-profile event. Some news reports suggest that the 31-year-old has no previous criminal record. In fact, he was not a suspect in any case in Washington before the incident.

However, one of Cole's sisters, Arviana, has gained the spotlight in the matter. Some internet users claimed that she has a professional background in Journalism and data reporting. She has worked with the Texas Tribune, Pew Research and CalMatters to build voter guides and data projects. In turn, her progressive-leaning ideology might or might not be connected to Cole's actions. Until now, there is no credible evidence to prove a link between the two. Internet users also found a LinkedIn Profile, which they believe  matches Cole Tomas Allen's name and image. According to the profile, he is a trained engineer. Also, it states he is a graduate in mechanical engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 2017. He followed it with a post-graduate degree in computer science in 2025 from California State University Dominguez Hills. Eventually, Cole worked part-time as an educator at C2 Education and developed games independently. In fact, his 'Teacher of the Month' recognition in 2024 highlighted his teaching work.

Investigators believe that Cole might have travelled by train from California to Chicago. Later, he travelled to Washington before the shooting incident. Also, acting Attorney General, Todd Blanche, revealed that they doubt Cole might have targeted President Donald Trump in the incident. Since he is facing serious charges, including assaulting federal officers, he might face several decades of punishment if found guilty.

Why is Cole Tomas Allen's identity not officially confirmed? 

U.S. President Donald Trump reacted to the incident on his social media handle. He praised the Secret Service and the Law Enforcement department for their quick action. He called it a "serious security" issue and once again mentioned his proposal for a White House Ballroom project, that he claimed, would have the highest level of security protections. On the other hand, although Cole's name appears in multiple reports, authorities have not formally confirmed his identity in the charging documents. But it is a normal practice in federal investigations when prosecutors still finalise charges and evidence.
