Ciara Reacts As Russell Wilson Retires, Ending 14-Year NFL Career, A Look At His Salary, Net Worth

Russell Wilson is retiring after 14 seasons in the NFL. The 37-year-old is retiring after a season with the New York Giants. After his NFL career, Russell Wilson now enters a new chapter, serving as an analyst for CBS's NFL pregame show.

Well, his journey will always be remembered, especially his time with the Seattle Seahawks, where he played for nearly 10 seasons and won Super Bowl XLIX in 2014. Russell Wilson shared a social media post announcing his retirement, and his wife, Ciara, reacted to it. It seems like forever that Russell Wilson and Ciara have been together, and her adorable reaction has now grabbed the attention.

Russell Wilson took to his social media handle and shared a video, featuring several glimpses from his NFL career. In the video, the former Super Bowl-winning quarterback spoke about his love for football and also acknowledged everyone who had a key role to play in his career, including the Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, his teammates, his parents and his wife, Ciara.

To mention, Russell will take up the role of a studio analyst for CBS Sports for The NFL Today and will be replacing the former NFL quarterback, Matt Ryan. As Russell Wilson shared a video to announce his retirement, it was Ciara who took to the comment section and gushed over her husband. She called him 'the best' in the world, while adding that she has always been and will always be proud of him. Calling him the greatest inspiration, Ciara, in the comment section, wrote:

"The best in the world!. There’s only one, 3! Always so proud of you! It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much!”

Ciara and Russell met each other back in 2015, and they have been inseparable since then. The couple met at a basketball game at the University of Wisconsin. The couple got married in 2016, and shares three kids, with one being his stepson. Russell had always known that Ciara was the one, he was meant to be with. This is something that he shared during an interview with San Diego's The Rock Church. Speaking more about the same, Russell said: 

"I told somebody that’s the girl I want to be with before I even met her. Before I met her, I was like, ‘I’m probably going to end up with Ciara.’”

For the unversed, Russell Wilson has been one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in NFL history. If a report by Spotrac is to be believed, Russell's net worth is estimated to be USD 165 to USD 185 million. Before he retired, he was associated with the New York Giants, and reportedly, he had a contract of USD 10.5 million, which lasted for one year, as per the contract.

Russell is considered to be one of the league's top earners, as his salary, only from the NFL, has reportedly been USD 300 million. With the Seattle Seahawks, he reportedly had a contract extension of USD 140 million for four years in 2019. Reportedly, his biggest contract came from his association with the Denver Broncos, which brought him a USD 245 million contract and USD 165 million in guarantee money.
