Amid the buzz surrounding Primetime, the focus has now shifted to Chris Hansen's personal life. While some might be aware that Chris had an affair with Kristyn Caddell while being married to his wife, Mary Joan, he reportedly also cheated on his mistress.
Chris Hansen had an affair with a stripper from the Vegas area
Chris Hansen was exposed in 2011 for having an affair with a reporter named Kristyn Caddell while being married to his wife of 20 years. However, that was not the only time that he had an affair. Chris reportedly had a six-month affair with a stripper named Kathleen Collins, whom he met in a Las Vegas club. Kathleen was reportedly shocked when she learned that her married boyfriend was also seeing another woman when his affair with Kristyn made headlines.
A friend close to the stripper told the National Enquirer at the time that Kathleen thought she was the only one Chris Hansen was dating at that time. The friend said, “I know this sounds crazy, but Kathleen really thought she was the only one.” She even confessed to her friend, “Chris cheated on me just like he cheated on his wife.” The source stated that Chris cheating on her “definitely broke her heart,” and she felt like she had been "used and betrayed” by the journalist.
Chris Hansen’s affair with 22-years-younger Kristyn Caddell
Chris Hansen's affair with Kristyn Caddell came to the forefront when he was secretly filmed taking her out on an illicit date. What made matters worse was that Chris, who had made a name for himself by catching would-be internet sex perverts in televised stings, was 22 years older than his mistress. The duo was caught going on a romantic dinner at the exclusive Ritz-Carlton hotel in Manalapan, before they spent the night at Kristyn’s apartment.
According to a source quoted by the National Enquirer, “there was immediate physical attraction” between Chris and Kristyn when they first crossed paths. Kristyn, who was initially a reporter for WPTV-Channel 5 in Florida, first met Chris in the VIP area at the Blue Martini Lounge in Palm Beach in March 2011. The source further revealed:
“Chris and Kristyn got on so well that she ended up going back to his room at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach - and later boasted to pals about staying the night with him.”
Notably, both of Chris Hansen's affairs came when he was still married to his first wife, Mary Joan, with whom he has two children. Two years after Chris and Kristyn's extramarital affair was exposed, she opened up about the negative impact it had on her life and career. In an open letter published in National Enquirer, she claimed that he had lied to her about his marriage being “filled with misery and on the verge of disarray.” He even lied to her about the wedding ring on his finger, as Kristyn shared:
“Chris told me a divorce was inevitable and the wedding ring on his finger was all but for show.”
When they were together, Chris Hansen's former mistress never doubted that he would really leave his wife and two kids. Kristyn recalled:
“Chris was flying me all over the country; putting us up in the finest hotels; having dinner and mingling with many of his colleagues; having our photographs taken together in public places; he would even speak with my family on the phone.”
