A famous beauty influencer of China named 'Angel Girl' has captivated the Chinese social media, Douyin, which is like a Chinese TikTok. Her beauty has left fans intrigued, and her slim figure and makeup skills are just on point. But the Chinese media has been buzzing with the claim that 'Angel Girl' is not a woman, but a 27-year-old man, who disguised himself as a woman to earn a living on the streaming platform.

Chinese influencer, Angel Girl, is a man disguised as a woman to earn a living

Angel Girl gained popularity as a Douyin creator, her glamorous appearance and feminine figure have left people in awe. But just weeks after she went viral in China, her fans were shocked to learn that the influencer was actually a 27-year-old man. The creator, known as Xianonio, gained attention for her style. Her late-night livestreams attracted many. However, on June 18, 2026, it was revealed by Chinese outlets that the influencer was actually a male.

The person behind the Angel Girl account was identified as Lin Ran, a former idol, who was born in 1999. He was part of the Chinese survival shows such as Produce Camp Chouang and Youth With You. This left many in shock, but some fans genuinely believed him to be a female influencer. The photos and livestream videos are going viral, the former idol showing gorgeous features, glamorous makeup and long hair. It was impossible for many to recognise him. 

Why Lin Ran chose to disguise his identity as a female influencer

As per a Chinese outlet, it has been revealed that Lin Ran was struggling to create a stable income and career for himself after his participation in the idol survival programs. However, despite having a successful debut in the world of glam and glitz, he even released his musical projects. But his career failed to give him the needed gains. After facing no significant opportunities from show business, she turned to livestreaming as a way of earning a living. 

He chose to transform himself into an influencer and gained a lot of success. He attracted large audiences and a lot of love from social media users. However, his identity got busted within a short  time. It is worth adding that Chinese netizens loved Lin Ran, and how he transformed himself into a woman. They praised his makeup skills and the way he acted as a girl. Many viewers urged him to continue his livestreams despite his identity reveal. Many even asked him to share makeup.

Lin Ran entered the industry in 2018 and debuted as a member of the group, Goldenage, under AIF Entertainment. His notable music industry, It's Amazing, Twilight Snow, and Mu Cheng Xue OST from White-Haired Witch Chronicles. However, many contestants from China's idol survival programs. His story has become a reminder that if you have a zeal to find a way of living, you will find the right.
