Charu Asopa has been going through a very difficult time at the moment. After a painful ordeal of divorce from her ex-husband, Rajeev Sen, the diva seems to have landed into a new problem. Being a single mother and a divorcee, Charu had recently revealed facing severe house-hunting issues in Mumbai, as she sought out a new place for herself. And now, she reveals some more startling details about the same.
In an interaction with Pinkvilla, Charu Asopa talked about her viral video a few days back, when she revealed how she was denied a house on rent, being a single parent and a divorcee. Charu now revealed being shocked about the kind of behaviour she witnessed and critiqued how even in the 21st century, people have some narrow thinking when it comes to women. Revealing how she was even questioned about the whereabouts of her ex-husband, Charu mentioned:
“Haan bilkul. Yeh mere liye bhi kaafi heartbroken tha kyunki jab maine yeh suna tab mujhe dhakka laga, mujhe laga shayad maine kuch galat sun liya. Maine do baar unse poocha ki sorry aapne kya kaha. Mujhe laga ki yeh kaisi baat hai karne wali. Ki aaj hum 21st century mein hai jaha par ek aurat sab kuch kar rhi hai, wo kaam bhi kar rahi hai, wo ghar bhi sambhal rahi hai, wo ek saath dus cheezein kar rhi hai.”

In the same revelation, Charu then revealed how she was quite insultingly questioned about the absence of a male in her family. Adding how she doesn’t approve of such notions, Charu said:
“Aapke ghar mein mard nahi hai to aapko ghar nahi milega. Yeh sunnke mujhe bhi kafi dhakka laga. Main yeh soch ko hi nahi maanti, yeh soch hi galat hai.”

In an earlier interview with the Hindustan Times, Charu Asopa opened up about her equation with ex-husband, Rajeev Sen and her former in-laws. The actress mentioned that she wishes to keep everything simple for her daughter, Ziana, who is too small to understand anything at her age. Moreover, she added that she hasn’t ever imposed any restrictions on her husband or her former-in-laws, when it comes to meeting Ziana and spending time with her.

When Charu talked about receiving hate for discussing her personal life publicly
In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Charu Asopa talked about discussing her divorce with Rajeev Sen publicly. She mentioned that she talked about her and Rajeev's disputes only after her character got maligned. In her words:
"I never wanted to do this but back-to-back 'mujh par laanchchan lagaaye ja rahe the,' 'jhooth bola ja raha tha'. I had no other choice but to speak out in public. I stay with my daughter and when people are talking something about me, she'll read them when she grows up. After that too, people didn't stop, they kept speaking ill but I said whatever I thought was necessary for everyone to know."
