Charu Asopa is done waiting for happy endings — she’s building her own. After her highly publicised divorce from Rajeev Sen in 2023, the television actress has started a new chapter with her daughter, Ziana, in her hometown, Bikaner, Rajasthan. She recently shared in a heartfelt vlog that she has officially registered her very first house, and it’s a dream come true.

Amid her ongoing spat with ex-husband Rajeev Sen, Charu has shared a major life update in her latest vlog. The actress revealed that she has officially registered her first house, which marks a significant milestone in this new chapter of her life with Ziana. For those unaware, Sushmita Sen’s former bhabhi, Charu, has been in the middle of a spat with Rajeev for the past month, which has now taken an ugly turn. The actress has also taken a break from her acting career and left Mumbai, citing financial issues.

In her vlog, Charu shared that the registry of her dream home is complete, and the house is officially hers. Holding back her emotions, the actress remarked that it was a dream come true, adding, “Malkin bann gayi hai ghar ki.”

In her vlog, Charu took fans through the momentous day, from signing the house registry papers to visiting a temple with her family to offer prayers for her new beginning. Overwhelmed with emotion, she confessed:

“I’m very overwhelmed right now because this is a dream every person has. And I feel that instead of telling every girl that her ultimate goal is marriage, we should be telling them that being financially independent and career-wise independent- that should be the ultimate goal, not marriage."

Charu Asopa purchased the house through a bank loan

In her vlog, Charu also opened up about the financial aspect behind her big move. Before leaving Mumbai, the actress cited financial issues, which led her to sell suits online for some extra money. Amid all these, purchasing a new house could be a huge responsibility. Addressing the same, Charu shared that the house was bought through a bank loan, and the EMI is nearly the same as what she used to pay for rent in Mumbai. She said:

“The EMI is almost what I was paying as rent in Mumbai. But the rent increases every year, whereas the EMI remains constant. That’s the benefit.”

Charu Asopa’s take on marriage and financial independence

Further into the vlog, Charu shared her views on relationships, marriage and financial independence. After suffering some tumultuous years following her divorce, Charu now has a refined take on life. Reflecting on her own journey post-divorce, she urged women not to make marriage their sole ambition. She said:

“Shaadi is a part of your life, shaadi ek buri cheez nahi hai. But ek ladki ka independent hona wo ek ultimate goal hona chahiye. Kyunki life mein kabhi bhi koi bhi problem aa sakti hai. Jo ek ladki ko sabse zyada help karta hai wo hota hai uska career, financial independence… being financially independent makes you stronger in facing life’s challenges. Whatever money you are giving, it will ultimately become yours. I am not answerable to anyone now.”

While her new home is still under construction, Charu is taking the time to build her business of clothing and skincare lines, especially her homemade face packs.
