Weddings are bliss and getting all set to spend an eternity of togetherness with your loved one is more than special. Especially, when you spot all your family members giving out a peal of heartfelt laughter at your D-day. And how profoundly did it happen with the just married couple of the glamour world, Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen. As excited as we could get, Charu Asopa became Mrs Sen yesterday (June 16, 2019), at an intimate destination wedding in Goa. The duo was no less than a visual treat in their wedding ensembles and how we had yearned for more of them! The couple had got married as per two wedding customs- a Bengali wedding and a Rajasthani wedding and had a touch of both in their couture. In fact, it was only a while back when Rajeev took to Instagram and posted an official picture after the sindoor-daan ceremony, wherein Charu had worn a thermocol mukoot and her forehead was smeared with vermillion. Sharing the picture, Rajeev wrote, “Just got married to the person I love & respect from my heart... Sen family #lifeline #rajakibittu forever.”
While that was about their Bengali wedding, don’t you want to stay updated about their Rajasthani wedding? As per the couple’s wedding itinerary, Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen’s pheras started off at around 11 pm. And that’s how, we came across a beautiful video of the much-in-love couple, taking their saat pheras as per their Rajasthani wedding customs. How do we know? Notice the absence of thermocol mukoot and topor from Charu and Rajeev’s head. The duo held hands as they took pheras, promising each other a marriage that will be a bounty of all the pleasant things of the universe. Here’s a glimpse:
Amazing, right? In an interview with the Bombay Times, Charu Asopa (now Charu Sen) had shared many details about their wedding. She had stated, "It will be an intimate affair with just 20-25 people each from our respective families in attendance. Our families had originally zeroed in on a date in December, but Rajeev, during a conversation with me, said that it’s too far. That’s how we advanced the date to June 16. Forget others, even our families were surprised to learn about our decision. We will have a reception in Mumbai depending on the availability of our families and friends." About the kind of wedding they are planning to have, Charu Asopa was then quoted as saying, "I have always dreamt of having a white wedding. So, we plan to have a Christian-themed engagement and I will wear a white gown for it. The idea is to start with white — the colour stands for peace and purity — and then add colours to our functions and costumes, with us in red on our wedding day. We will be colour-coordinated for all our functions. While the pheras will happen according to Rajasthani and Bengali rituals, the theme for the wedding will be royal Rajasthani. I am in a shopping mode now. I haven’t taken up any new project, as I want to spend time with Rajeev after marriage."
Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen surely look like a match made straight out of heaven! In an interview with the Bombay Times, the Mere Angne Mein actress had revealed if it was love at first sight for them. She had shared, "After our first meeting, we had decided to catch up again over coffee, but I left for my hometown, Bikaner. I was on a much-needed break after my show, Jiji Maa, ended. In fact, I hadn’t decided when to return. However, as luck would have it, I was offered KarnSangini and had to report on the set the very next day. I texted Rajeev from the set and told him that we could meet for coffee. I had assumed that the meeting would end in half an hour. However, we went on talking for hours until I told him that I had to leave as I had an early call time the next day. We started chatting, spending time together and the rest, as they say, is history. I don’t know if I can call it love at first sight, but it looks like that.”
Charu Asopa had then, shared interesting insights about their relationship. She had shared, “Both of us are looking at a relationship for keeps. The best aspect of our relationship is that we are transparent. We know about each other’s past and have never felt the need to hide anything from each other.” Talking about when they would tie the knot (a thing from the past now as they are now happily married), Charu had shared, "Of course, we talk about it, but we are still exploring the relationship and learning new things about each other every day." A confident Charu had shared that Rajeev will surely surprise her on their honeymoon. Commenting on their honeymoon plans, Charu was quoted as saying, "Rajeev will decide on that. I am sure that he will surprise me."
