What made the news even more tragic is that Fiona was only 13 years old when she passed away by suicide. Now, days after the incident, Chad and Kim’s eldest daughter, Mabel, broke her silence on Fiona's death.

Apart from Fiona Helper Lowe, Chad Lowe and Kim Painter have two more daughters, Nikie Barbara, 10, and Mabel Painter, 17. On October 3, 2026, Mabel took to her Instagram to break her silence after Fiona’s death. In the heartbreaking post, Mabel wrote about how much she loves Fiona, hoping that her short time in this world was easier. Promising to keep Fiona's memory alive forever, she added:
“I love you so much, Fiona. I wish your short time here was easier, and I hope your mind is at ease now. I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you; I hope you knew just how much.”
Alongside the note, Mabel posted several pictures from over the years featuring Fiona. The first picture showed the sister duo playing on the beach. The second picture showed Fiona on her birthday sitting inside a car. The final picture in the carousel appeared to be a recent one, where Fiona could be seen dancing.
Many took to the comments section of the post to praise Mabel and share their condolences with her family. Actor David Boreanaz wrote, “Lovely. Two peas in a pod forever.” Melissa Gilbert wrote, “I love you so much, Mabel. Here for you, always, sweet girl.”

Chad Lowe and his family shared in a statement on September 29, 2026, that their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, had passed away. They mentioned suicide helplines in their statement, which confirmed that Fiona's death had also occurred under similar circumstances.
The family asked for privacy as they navigate this difficult time. They concluded the statement by urging all those who are experiencing a mental health crisis to seek help. The statement could be read as:
"We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona... She was adored by her sisters, and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family, and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.”
While the statement did not reveal the exact date that Fiona died, information released by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner stated that Chad Lowe's teenage daughter passed away on September 29, 2026. She was rushed to a local hospital after an emergency at her family home, where she was later declared dead at 1:14 a.m. Despite some earlier reports claiming that Fiona had died at home, she was not declared dead until she reached the hospital.
Even days after Fiona's death, very few details surrounding her passing have been made public. And even though Fiona's cause of death was revealed as suicide, the case has been kept open for normal administrative procedures.
