Casper Ruud is making headlines for his gameplay in the Madrid Open 2026. It is worth noting that the top-ranked player reached a milestone after starring in Netflix's tennis documentary, Break Point. Amidst it, all eyes are on his fiancee, Maria Galligani. The couple announced that they would get married in November 2024. But in 2025, the couple that Maria was expecting their first baby.

Maria Galligani is from Norway, and the couple stays in Oslo. Maria studied at Oslo Nye Hoyskole from 2017 to 2020. She studied psychology, as per her LinkedIn profile. Later, in 2022, she completed her master's degree in psychology from the University of Southern Denmark. Apart from her educational achievements, Maria also worked for a sports nutrition company. 

Casper Ruud and Maria Galligani's love story

Maria and Casper keep their personal life private. So, no one knows how they met or when they have been together, but the couple announced their love in 2018. Casper was the one who shared the first photo with Maria on his Instagram in November 2018. After which, they were seen on a trip to London and Paris. 

The same year, Casper made his debut at the Australian Open. He became the first Norwegian to qualify for a Grand Slam. He created history as he became the first player from Norway to qualify in 17 years. However, he couldn't make it past the second round. However, Casper found support in Maria as she often roots for him. And when he won the Barcelona Open in April 2024, Maria and Casper shared a kiss on the court before posing with the player's trophy. The same year, Casper lifted the trophy from the Madrid Open in 2025. During his acceptance speech, Casper thanked his fiancee for her support. He had said:

"To my beautiful fiancée, Maria, who came yesterday to support, thank you for giving me the last boost to finally get over the finish line."

Casper and Maria are parents to a daughter and a furbaby

Casper often shares adorable photos with Maria on his Instagram handle. From their trips to their little celebrations, the two are the most-loved couples in the Tennis world. It is worth adding that Casper and Galligani are also dog parents. Together, the two are raising a Malshi furry named Bajas Galligani Ruud. As per the dog's IG profile, Bajas was born on December 10, 2020, and his gotcha day is in January 2021. The couple has shared adorable photos of their little pooch. In July 2021, Rudd had taken his pup to the Swedish Open. He had shared a photo posing with his pooch on the court. 

Later, in January 2026, Casper and Maria welcomed their first child, a daughter. The couple announced their pregnancy in September 2025. During an interview with ATPTour.com, Casper revealed that he is excited for the new phase of life as he is extremely close with his family. He stated that he is looking forward to becoming a good parent. He was quoted as saying:

"I look forward to hopefully becoming a good parent myself. Even though this life requires a lot of time, a lot of energy and a lot of travel and these things, I look forward to trying to be there as much as I can and when I have downtime — time off from the court — I will spend it where I want to go with my future daughter."
