Carrie Underwood under intense backlash for her Mar-a-Lago face
Carrie Underwood has been at the center of a debate following her recent appearance. The singer recently attended an event honoring Dolly Parton, the country music legend who passed away in August 2026. However, during her appearance at CMA Presents: I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton on October 21, 2026, her looks became a hot topic.

For those who aren't aware, Carrie Underwood chose a strapless pale pink-and-white ball gown adorned with floral embroidery for the occasion. However, it wasn't the gorgeous dress that caught everyone's attention, but how she looked. Soon, social media was abuzz with comments labeling her as 'frightening', as many wondered what the singer had done to her face.
However, that was not it; some even tore Carrie Underwood down for her political opinion, alleging that she had "no business" at the celebration. Many social media users claimed that Dolly Parton stood for love, whereas Carrie's political support went to something that was hateful. Nonetheless, amid the buzz, fans and many other social media users have since come forward in support of the singer.
Social media users defend Carrie Underwood amid 'Mar-a-Lago' face buzz
Soon after the chatter around her face began, some social media users came to her defense, pointing out that there was nothing wrong with the way she looked. Some even complimented the singer, alleging that the only issue they could see was that her tan was a little out of place. For those who are not aware, Carrie Underwood's tan made her look a little too orangish-bronze during her appearance.
A user said, "Her politics aside, this is not Mar-a-Lago face. She looks great, actually. Very age appropriate." Another penned, "Where was the frightening part? I mean, she looks different but not frightening." A comment read, "Is the 'Frightening' in the room with us?" A user in a lengthy comment wrote:
"I can't stand her music or her political leanings (or just her really, she comes off as a total b*tch), but she looks fine. I see a middle-aged lady who's tightened things up, but she doesn't have a scary Mar-a-Lago face imo."

Amid the intense backlash, many expressed that Carrie Underwood's look was fine and that her face hasn't changed much. Vanity Fair also shared its thoughts on the singer's recent look, highlighting her high brows and cartoonishly inflated lips, with skin and eyes that looked frozen, as if pulled sideways and upward. But it couldn't be determined whether Carrie underwent cosmetic treatment.
Reacting to the buzz, Gizem Seymenoglu also shared his thoughts and told Express U.S. that the singer's brows looked a little elevated. However, the doctor admitted that it could be because of the use of Botox around the area rather than intensive cosmetic surgery. Nonetheless, he didn't completely discard the cosmetic treatments, suggesting that she might have had skin-tightening treatment done.

As for the event held in Dolly Parton's honor, it was graced by several big names in the entertainment industry. For those who missed the event, CMA Presents: I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton was held at Belmont University's Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville.
Notable performers and guests included Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Lainey Wilson, Kelsea Ballerini, Ashley McBryde, Darius Rucker, Ella Langley, Kristin Chenoweth, and Kristen Bell. Carrie Underwood also performed at the event, and her closing performance even received a standing ovation. Carrie also expressed her admiration for Dolly, calling the late country music legend a 'Dear Friend' and praising her compassion, kindness, and generosity.
