Nailah Landon carved her own path while Cam Ward was making headlines in college football. The Chicago native balanced athletics and academics at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, playing for the volleyball team while studying communication and media studies, graduating in 2023.
Post-college, Landon turned her focus to her professional career and relocated to Florida. She took on a role as a marketing coordinator for the MLB team Miami Marlins in March 2024, right around the time Ward transferred to Miami for his final college season.
Certain reports have claimed that Nailah was born in 2001. Apart from her parents, Noni Weathers and Norvice Landon, her family members also include four siblings - April, Jalen, Nia, and Norvice.
When she was active as a volleyball player, she switched between starting roles and bench appearances during the 2020 season. She recorded her best performance that year with 11 kills against Northwestern State. Once she finished college, Landon started working at Front Runner Sports as a marketing specialist in July 2023. She worked for nine months until May 2024.

Cam Ward and Nailah Landon’s love story dates back to 2020 when they first crossed paths at Incarnate Word. Notably, both of them were students and athletes at the institute. Ward, who is originally from West Columbia, Texas, spent two seasons at the school before moving to Washington State in 2022.
In May 2022, after his transfer, Ward gave a glimpse of his new place on Instagram, and Landon playfully commented, asking him to make her some ramen. He posted a black-and-white photo from an interview in August 2022 with a caption about being destined for greatness but chasing what seems unreachable, to which Landon reacted with a teary-eyed emoji to show support.
Ward then transferred to Miami in January 2024 after two years at Washington State. As per her LinkedIn, Landon also relocated to Florida around the same time and began her job as a marketing coordinator with the Miami Marlins.
After his Heisman Trophy nomination, Ward reshared a video of his face on a massive billboard in New York in December 2024. Just weeks before the NFL Draft, in April 2025, Ward posted a rare picture with Landon on Instagram. In a carousel documenting his recent life, he included a selfie clicked by Landon of the two of them posing together in a car window.
