Bunnie Xo's Rough IVF Journey, Felt Isolated, Was 'Yelled At' By A Doctor 'Screaming At Me Over...'

Just six months before parting ways, Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo were hoping to welcome twins through a surrogate. The couple was undergoing in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and revealed the news of getting a surrogate to carry their babies. However, destiny had other plans, and the couple parted ways after ten years of marriage and years of IVF struggles.

Bunnie Xo recalled her difficult IVF journey

In her memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, Bonnie wrote about her difficult IVF journey and how it was one of the most painful experiences of her life. Bunnie, who is stepmom to Jelly's daughter Bailee Ann and son Noah Buddy, revealed that they have used her egg and Jelly’s sperm to make twins. Bunnie also shared, “I can't wait to see a piece of me and him running around outside of our bodies."

Bunnie, in one of her podcasts, stated that the IVF medicines took a toll on her, and it was often like a gamble, and one never knows what they get. Speaking about the same, she revealed:

“It’s like a slot machine in Vegas. You never know what you’re gonna get. It’s a different outcome. What works for some, doesn’t work for others. Age is a factor. There’s just so many things that go into it, and I don’t want to say that I was blind and thought, ‘oh, I’m gonna do one retrieval and it’s gonna be perfect.’ No, I didn’t think that. I never thought that, but I had hope.”

Bunnie Xo felt isolated during her IVF journey

Initially, Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo thought of going private with their IVF journey, but they later changed it and shared it with their fans, as they were always open about themselves. In her podcast, Bunny revealed that she felt isolated and lonely during her IVF journey. She stated that despite having family, friends and loved ones, but at the end it was just her and her hormones. From the injection to the egg retrieval, Bunny’s life was left only on hope.

Bunnie Xo recalled ‘getting yelled’ at by an IVF doctor

Though Bunnie had an amazing experience with the doctors at the Tennessee Fertility Institute, she did face a heated moment with her first doctor. Recalling an incident, Bunnie told her listeners that she went to a very well-known clinic, and a very prestigious doctor was handling her case. The couple faced some problems during the IVF treatment, and the doctor didn’t communicate properly about the issues with Bunnie.

Bunnie told her listeners that the doctor never called her and only gave her the test results, stating that he couldn’t help the couple and could only suggest another doctor. Recalling how he flipped when she questioned him, Bunnie shared:

“I get it; he doesn’t care. But when you’re going through this, you want to feel like your doctor cares. he was pretty much like, ‘Yep, there’s nothing I can do for you, but I’ll send you to another doctor to take care of it.’ And I was like, ‘I really feel like we dropped the ball here.’ This doctor flipped out on me. Just like screaming at me over text message. Literally lost his ever-loving mind on me, and I was just like, ‘Okay.’ That’s all I said back, like I am not going to argue with this man.”

Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll’s split

According to the court documents, Jelly filed for separation from Bunnie on May 18, 2026. People have been blaming Jelly Roll for the split, citing that now that he has gotten his dream body and is moving on to new endeavours, he no longer needs her. Some even cited his infidelity as one of the reasons for their split.
