The couple had tied the knot in June 2018, and they also share a child together. Amidst it, Brittney's past relationship has resurfaced.
Brittney Griner claimed her first wife, Glory Johnson, cheated on her
Brittney Griner was first married to Glory Johnson. The two married in 2015 but their marriage ended after she found out about her pregnancy. Brittney claimed that Glory cheated on her before their marriage, in the court papers. She ended the first marriage within 28 days and stated that Johnson had a sexual relationship with a man, leading up to the WNBA star's engagement.
Brittney further revealed that Johnson kept texting her ex-boyfriend after their engagement. However, she didn't talk about these facts in her initial filings to protect the couple's relationship. She filed for an annulment of the marriage. She filed the documents after she found out about her pregnancy through IVF. Brittney earlier claimed that she was pressured to marry Johnson.
On the other hand, Johnson requested that Brittney pay her USD 20,000 per month as spousal support, plus a USD 10,000 advance towards Johnson's counsel's legal fees. In an earlier interview, Johnson talked about the divorce and stated that she had never dated women before and is not a lesbian, but she fell in love with her. And decided to marry her. She even claimed that it was Brittney who selected the donor for them to continue with IVF, but she backed out in the end.

Brittney Griner filed for divorce from her second wife after eight years of marriage. She listed July 24, 2026, as the date of her separation, and said that their marriage is irretrievably broken. The couple got married in June 2018, and they fell in love after Brittney filed for divorce from her first wife. Brittney asked for joint legal custody of their child and to determine child support.
Soon, netizens expressed their opinion on her second divorce. One user wrote, "This is sad to me. I wondered how/why BG went to CT solo (although since her wife is a lawyer, I am sure it’s tough to move around every year) but this makes more sense now. Really sad, especially since a young kid is involved."
A second user penned, "Obviously we don’t know what went down, but i just wanna point out that BG is NOT in debt forever because her wife held her down while she was imprisoned.
