While many modern-day brides still believe that red is the shagano ka rang and prefer wearing it on their D-day, there are other kickass brides who have moved on from the traditional reds. Also, while red is considered as the auspicious colour for the brides to wear on their wedding, white and black are the colours, which are a BIG NO NO for the dulhans, especially in Hindu and Punjabi weddings. But not anymore! Well, one of the most gorgeous real brides this year, Shikha Khetwani, not only ditched the traditional red, but also opted for unusual colours as that of black and white for her sangeet and wedding.

Gone are the days when brides used to stay away from black and white as they are now open to experimenting and so was the case with Shikha Khetwani, who wore both the colours for her destination wedding in Sri Lanka. Right from her wedding trousseau, their colour to her bridal entry at the wedding venue, Shikha experimented with that all and everything was in literal sense a lot hatke. For the sangeet night, Shikha wore a stunning black-coloured crop-top and skirt by the ace B-town designer, Manish Malhotra. The black crop top of the outfit featured dramatic sleeves and she looked as elegant as possible. On the other hand, the skirt of the outfit had silver embellishments on it, which accentuated the entire look. Shikha kept her lovely locks open in loose curls and wore a delicate diamond neckpiece with a red ruby hanging down there. With this glam number on-point, the then bride-to-be portrayed how black can be done right for your sangeet function.

Coming on to the main event - the wedding day! For her wedding, Shikha made a perfect dulhan becoming an emblem of what simple yet elegant bride means. Shikha looked like a dream in her white lehenga by one and only Sabyasachi Mukherji, which featured floral motifs. She styled her lehenga with a pink heavily embroidered blouse. For both the occasions, her makeup was done by Mickey Contractor and hair was done by Ritika Kadam. And the official photographer for her wedding was Isrrani Photography.

As far as her bridal entry was concerned, she aced that too! Kicking away the cliché entry of coming under the phoolon ki chaadar, Shikha chose to make a totally hatke and grand entry in a boat on the Kalu Ganga, Sri Lanka, amidst two dancers and her bridesmaid standing right beside her, giving her support during such a special moment. The wedding planner of this marriage, Purple Chariot Wedding, shared the mesmerising picture and captioned it as “And on the river Kalu Ganga, Shikha arrived to begin a new journey of love and togetherness.” (Checkout: This Bride Wore A Dazzling Sabyasachi Orange Lehenga On Her Wedding With Contrasting Jewellery)
