For those unaware, Hayden passed away on August 16, 2026, at the age of 36. Brian was reportedly present in Hayden’s apartment when she died. At present, Brian has found himself in the spotlight once again for all the wrong reasons. He was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.
Brian Hickerson found himself in the middle of a chair-tossing altercation
Brian Hickerson had a wild night with his brother, Zach, at a South Carolina bar. Brian had allegedly been drinking for hours with his brothers at the Wild Wing Cafe bar in Greenville, when both brothers were thrown out after a chair-tossing incident. According to sources quoted by TMZ, things took a turn when Brian went up to the bar to talk to fellow patrons.
However, he soon picked up a stool and threw it behind them. In a video obtained by the outlet, Brian was seen being hoisted into the air by someone who was behind him during the argument. Soon, he was carried out of the restaurant while the bartender was heard yelling, “Let him go!”
The incident led Greenville PD officers to respond to the bar after a report of an “assault” was filed. When the police arrived on the scene, they found Brian and his brother, Zach, in an argument with the others outside the bar.
Eventually, both Brian and Zach were put in handcuffs, although, as per reports, only the latter was arrested for disorderly conduct. This is because Zach had launched into a profanity-filled tirade. Police also said that Zach appeared to be highly intoxicated during the incident.
Although Brian Hickerson was not arrested, he started yelling at officers about his girlfriend, Hayden Panettiere’s death, while sitting handcuffed on the sidewalk. He accused the police department of leaking information about Hayden's death. Brian yelled:
“GPD leaked it when my girlfriend died.”
Before the chair-tossing incident, Brian was permanently barred from at least three South Carolina bars. This includes Hooters, Twin Peaks, and another Greenville bar. The ban stemmed from concerns over his excessive drinking and intoxication on the properties. According to a source, Brian would become erratic once intoxicated.
He would also fail to listen to staff when they asked him to leave. Previously, in August 2025, Brian was arrested after he was found high at a restaurant in West Hollywood.

In August 2026, Hayden Panettiere was found unresponsive at her Greenville apartment. She had been staying there with Brian in the days leading up to her death. Police reports obtained by media outlets revealed that Zach was the first person who had discovered the Nashville star unresponsive in a chair. At that time, Brian was sleeping in a separate room of the apartment.
Zach had told the outlet that Brian had administered Narcan to the actress. However, Hayden was pronounced dead at the scene. A 911 dispatch audio revealed that Hayden was suffering from a cardiac arrest and suspected overdose.
As of now, her exact cause of death remains unknown, while an investigation has been launched into the same by the Drug Enforcement Administration. A criminal investigation was also launched to find out if anyone was responsible for Hayden’s death.
In the first public comment made by Hayden’s mom, Lesley Vogel, she claimed that Brian was responsible for creating issues in her daughter's life. She also stated that their family wanted him to end the relationship. In her words:
"This person in her life that we have been trying to get rid of for quite some time was with her at her death, and that was Brian Hickerson."
