One of the finest actresses and dancers in the history of Indian cinema, Sridevi had passed away on February 24, 2018, in Dubai in a hotel's bathroom tub. Her loss had not only created a void in the lives of her husband, Boney Kapoor and kids, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor but was also a huge loss for the Indian cinema, which had lost its humble megastar.
Since her demise, Sridevi's fans, family, and friends support each other and fight the pain of not having her with them. However, Sridevi's gigantic legacy always make us smile and is working as medicine for her fans to deal with the eternal wound of her loss. Once again, the late actress is in the headlines after her husband, Boney Kapoor, dropped their 'first-ever' picture together on his social media handle.
On December 11, 2021, Boney Kapoor took to his Instagram handle and shared his first-ever picture with his wife and iconic actress, late Sridevi. In the monochrome picture, both Boney and Sridevi looked like a breath of fresh air, as it was clicked back in 1984. While on one side, Sridevi can be seen in a traditional Rajasthani folk costume, on the other side, Boney looked handsome in a shirt and pants. The picture was from the time when Boney and Sridevi had met during a film's shoot at the iconic Natraj Studios. Along with the priceless picture, Boney penned a caption that can be read as:
"First picture with my wife, September 1984 at Natraj studios."
Not only this, in his other IG post, Boney Kapoor shared a rare picture of his late father, Surinder Kapoor, from the mahurat of his film, Jabse Tumhe Dekha Hai (1963). In the picture, we can also get a close glimpse of the late legendary actor, Raj Kapoor, who looked away from the camera. Other notable celebrities in the frame were the late Krishna Raj Kapoor (Raj Kapoor's wife) and late Nirmal Kapoor (Surinder Kapoor's wife). For the unversed, Boney Kapoor's father, Surinder, was iconic actor, Raj Kapoor's father, Prithviraj Kapoor's first cousin. Along with this memorable picture, Boney wrote a short note in the caption, which can be read as:
"My first step in a film studio for the mahurat of my father's 1st film."
In a throwback interview with the Filmfare, Boney Kapoor had once opened up about his obsession with his wife, late Sridevi. The producer had mentioned that it was his wife's 'innocence' that had won him. The doting husband had also added that his wife was an extremely humble person despite being such a megastar, and it was one of the many qualities that had made him fall in love with her. He had said:
"Basically, Sri's an introvert. Her job done, she'd keep to herself. But what impressed me was her innocence. She was not corrupted by artifice. Mere dil ko woh gherti chali gayee. My obsession for her only grew each time I met her. She was so simple despite being a superstar."
For the uninitiated, Boney Kapoor and Sridevi had got married on June 2, 1966.
